New Teacher
The next morning at breakfast, the students received their schedules.
�Oh man,� Ron said, �we still have Potions and Care of Magical Creatures with the Slytherins.�
�What classes are you guys taking?� Harry asked Melissa and Sheila.
�Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies,� Melissa and Sheila said at the same time.
�Cool!� Ron said. �How do you do that?�
�Practice,� they said.
�Well,� Sheila said, �We�d better go. We have to find the Charms room. We�ll see y�all later.�
�What does �y�all� mean?� Ron asked.
�Never mind,� Melissa said, walking out with Sheila.
�Freaky!� Ron said. �It�s like they share a brain.�
�Yeah,� Harry said absentmindedly, looking at the other side of the table where Hermione was sitting.
�Harry, snap out of it!� Ron said. �Who�s that woman up there in Hagrid�s seat. I didn�t notice her yesterday.�
�I don�t know,� Harry said.
Fudge stood up and said, �Before you go to your classes, I would like to introduce your new Care of Magical Creatures teacher, Professor Felina.�
The woman stood up. She had long, black hair and her skin was paler than Snape�s. She seemed short to Harry but that was probably because he was used to Hagrid.
�Wait a minute,� Harry said. �I remember now. Hagrid said Dumbledore gave him and Madam Maxime a special job over the summer. That�s why he�s gone.�
�Yeah,� Ron said. �Harry, we�d better hurry. We have Potions. We can�t lose points our first day.�
The boys stood up and headed for the dungeons.
