This was supposed to be a day to relax. No slogging around the shops among the sweaty locals. Just a quiet stroll among the animals of Ueno zoo........However........
Due to a bit of bad planning by someone who should know better (especially after living here for 13 years!) we discovered that the zoo closes on Mondays...so. We went slogging around the shops among the sweaty locals. (Actually they are really nice people and don't sweat much at all.) Here are the photos of today's adventure.

Another piece of understated Japanese architecture. This one is in Akihabara, otherwise known as "Electric town" home of Japan's retail electronics industry. In other words; Stephen's idea of Heaven.
