Dottie West brought a lot of great country sunhine to our lifes. Dottie opened many doors for other female singers. She was the very first woman in country music to win a grammy for her 1964 smash hit "Here Comes My Baby". She will never be forgotten and one day she will be elected into the country muisc hall of fame were she belongs and should already be in there. ~ Paul Potter

Dottie West had lived the life, an abusive childhood, troubled marriages, and financial issues, yet she still managed to shine. She was the first lady in country music to win a Grammy, and she had numerous #1hits on both the country and pop charts. Dottie gave country music style, class, and sex appeal. She was a legend and an inspiration to many and in my eyes, one of country music's greatest ladies." ~Lucas Dunaway
Dottie West, just hearing her name brings a smile, she was and always the "country sunshine". She was the first woman to win a grammy! for country music, along with Patsy Cline and Lorretta Lynn she helped open the doors for todays woman of country music. she helped bring too a stop the "the 'girl singers'are just window dressing"that they can write songs, make records, and sale tickets and be headliners instead of the opening act.and that no matter the age of a woman she could still look and be sexy!.and still be at the top....i feel that the CMA has over looked Dottie and she needs to be in the hall of fame along with her dear Patsy Cline ....they owe alot to her ~Robbie Jerrell
Dottie was a wonderful songstress who had a flawless voice. Plus a keen ear who discovered Steve Wariner and the Gatlin Brothers. A voice that is missed every day." ~Stephanie Pennington
Although I did not know her personally. I did like her. she was a very good singer, good person, beautiful inside and out.I guess I would say she was simply the best!!! ~Michele Perfetta
she was the best in country music and she did her job and she did it right the best thing i like about her was she was the kinda person who spoke her mind she diddnt pull any strings with no one and i think shes a wonderful person for that because theres not many in country music today who will do that type a thing. ~Chad
Dottie changed the face of contemporary country, for one thing, she gave it a face that didn't have to shave. She was the first woman ever in country music history to win a Grammy. I know in the 70's she reinvented herself. Personally, she eschewed her prim clothes, for sexy, designer wear. Thank you Bob Mackie! I love the way she sang, with so much emotion, you felt her emotions through her songs. When she sings about heartache and pain, and when she sings happy songs, you feel it. She's a legend, an inspiration, and will never be forgotten. She truly is one of the leading ladies in country music. A beautiful woman, inside and out, had an incredible career, dressed sexy, and really proved age is nothing but a state of mind. She truly deserves to be in the Country Hall of Fame. The owe it to her. Greg B
