Hey guys, said Harry, Am I ever glad to see you! He grinned and looked at his two best friends.
Im guessing this is Mr. Weasley, came Mrs. Figgs voice from behind them. And youre Ms. Granger, am I correct? she asked.
Yes, maam, said Hermione.
Well, Mrs. Figg, wed better be off now, thanks again for letting me stay! said Harry quickly. He shuffled his friends over to the train. The three friends boarded the train, and sat in the nearest compartment.
She seemed nice, commented Hermione. Ron rolled his eyes sarcastically.
Yeah, shes nice, said Harry, But she watches me like a hawk. She wouldnt even let me go to Rons house because she thought it was dangerous there. I mean, come on. How is Ron house dangerous? Hermione gave him a stern look.
I think it may have been for the best, she said, Why else would she go to the trouble to watch you so carefully?
You sound just like my parents, said Ron. Harry and Ron laughed. Hermione obviously didnt think it was very funny because she turned up her nose and looked out the window. But their laughter was cut short by a nasty voice outside of their compartment.
Well, well, well, if it isnt Potter and his dirty friends, said Draco Malfoy. He looked at the badge pinned to Hermiones sweater. I see theyve made you a prefect, eh mudblood? he sneered. Well I can see that this schools standards for prefects arent what they used to be. He grinned impishly. He then looked at Ron. Actually, seeing how theyve let your family in this school, it looks like none of their standards are what they should be. Behind him, Crabbe and Goyle sniggered. Rons ears turned red.
Beat it, Malfoy, warned Harry, We dont need you wasting our time with your childish insults. He gave Draco one last irritated look, then looked away from him.
Childish, eh? If you want to see childish, why dont you just look at the way
PORTA PROXIMA! shouted Hermione, and, with a flick of her wand, the compartment door slammed in Malfoys face. They heard him cry out in pain, and they instantly knew that the door had hit him in the face. They burst out into laughter, and didnt stop for a full five minutes.
