| Oh, ok, Harry said. Mrs. Figg walked up the steps to her room. Harry looked at the cats surrounding him. One jumped onto his lap. He stroked it and noticed that there were faint speckles on its fur. Part kneazle, eh? Harry laughed. He soon realized that all of the polyjuice morphing had drained his energy, and before he knew it, he was asleep. Harry was woken up by a soft hooting in his ear. He opened his eyes and saw a fluffy, brown owl staring at him. Lo Errol, Harry said. He looked at the piece of parchment tied to his leg. He unrolled it and read it. Harry, Of COURSE you can come over! My parents like you better than any of their children (except maybe Ginny) and theyd be more than happy to have you. Hedwig is staying here with me, although I dont think she likes me as much as she likes you. She really wants to be with you. I have a lot of homework to do too. I actually havent started, so when you come, you can help me with it. I need a break from my family. Percy got Crouchs job, so now hes even more conceited than ever. Fred and George have been working on some new joke stuff, and theyve been testing their things on me. Ive already been turned into a canary six times! Dads been having a bit of trouble with the Ministry. Seems that a few people have just up and left, and they are having trouble finding new employees. After the Bertha Jorkins incident, and since everyone knows that You-Know-Who is alive, it seems that no one wants to be part of the Ministry, aside from Percy. Well, aside from that, life is boringly normal here in the burrow, and I cant wait until school starts. If you can, write me back. If not, then Ill talk to you when you get here. Ron Weasley Great, Ill see you then, Ron! Harry said aloud. He let Errol go through an open window and turned around, quite surprised to see Mrs. Figg reading his letter. Uh, Mrs. Figg, I just got that letter from Ron, and Absolutely NOT! Mrs. Figg announced in a startlingly loud voice. Im sorry, Harry, but I cannot permit you to go to Mr. Weasleys house this summer! But Harry started, his heart sinking. No, Harry, you have to stay here, under my watch. As long as You-Know-Who is around, you are only safe either near me or at Hogwarts, under Professor Dumbledores protection. Im very sorry, but I must insist. I will write Mr. Weasley an owl explaining the circumstances. She walked off to write the letter. Harry stood in the middle of the livingroom, the corner of his eyes burning. He angrily grabbed his suitcase. After climbing upstairs, he threw the suitcase down on the floor. He jumped into his bed, and looked longingly out the window. Great, he thought, my summer has been officially ruined. |
