A Marriage Made

Auror Goldsmith was not a very unattractive man, even, he figured, that metamorphmagus could see it. He knew, based on comments from those women he has bed, that he was a great lay, and that, he grinned himself, more above average than the next guy. As he looked around the aurors offices, the man couldn't help but wonder what about him that Tonks didn't find attractive.

So he had a few, extra, gray hairs. All aurors did after a while, it was one of the hazzards of working in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He watched Kingsley Shacklebolt enter the room and the few female aurors there swoon. Deciding to get to the bottom of it once and for all, he stood and said, "Mr. Shacklebolt, may I speak with you?"

Waking her husband, Tonks decided, was the one chore that she would greatly delight in performing every morning. However, instead of waking her husband this morning as she had every morning since they had married, the woman kissed her husband on the cheek. She was dressed and up before he even thought of opening his eyes, and soon after apparated to the Law Offices of Blake, Black and Blake. Looking around, she saw everyone eyeing her disdainfully and, figured, it was the fact that she had wore basic, non-pureblood robes instead of those of her new family.

She knocked on the door of a solicitor that she was snidely told was open. Walking in the door, she cast a Sonorous on herself and said, "Hello, my name is Nymphadora Tonks-Potter."

Outside of the room, everything drew to a standstill, and an eerie silence resided over theoofice. The solicitor; a ragged, portly man with a balding head and stone grey eyes stood up. His torn, withered robes flowed seemlessly to the ground, and he hastened to make himselfpresentable, his unruly mop of long facial hair flowing down his aged face. Tonks quickly took his hand, and instead of jerking back as the man expected smiled and said, "how are you sir?"

He winced as the metamorphmagus blushed, tapped her throat and said, "sorry."

Nodding, the man smiled and said, "Hello Mrs. Potter, it is both an honor and a privilege to meet someone of your annotated stature."

She blushed and said, "No, that'd be my husband, sir."

He nodded and said, surprising the young girl with a deep, accented Italian, "My name is Donato Ercole, it is an honor to meet you. How may I be of service?"

She smiled at the older man. "I was notified by the Hogwarts Board of Governors, three days ago, that I had a contract in waiting for a position at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I would like your legal advice on this contract, and possibly any others that come up in the future with my husband and I."

"The Efisio's upstairs do all contracting with Hogwarts madam, if you'd allow me to accompany you?"

Tonks shook her head. "No, I found that out earlier when I went upstairs. I was, very rudely, told to sit down while a pureblood entered the room demanding to speak with Mr. Efisio, and I decided someone that would put finely dressed bigots above someone that was politely there beforehand, with no prejudices, does not deserve my business. So, I came down and... accenting a few features, found out that there was a human being in this entire business.

I am... suggesting that you take over as our advisor with this business, sir."

He nodded, and making a short firecall said, "Edoardo, send me the Tonks-Potter file."

"Why, Donato, would I want to do that. You know that the Purebloods come to me, and those mudbloods and halfbloods to you. The Potters are a pureblood family, even if they have two halfbloods running it."

"Well, I can assure you that Mrs. Tonks-Potter will most assuredly tell her husband, am I correct, Ma'am?"

Tonks smiled, "Most assuredly, Mr. Ercole, most assuredly. I don't think my husband can deal with another bigot that thinks purebloods are better because they can trace their familyon both sides.

I would appreciate your cooperation, sir."

After a fine bit of cursing, the file came through the fire and Tonks watched as he opened it. "Ah, so you are here in... yes here it is. Yes ma'am, this is a basic contract of employment. If you don't mind, I can go over it with you, and explain any parts you don't understand."

She could see the hope in the mans eyes, and said, "if I do this, and I approve of your explanation, could I retain your services, and if so how much would they cost?"

"Well, an average reading costs on average one hundred fifty galleons, thirteen sickles andsixteen knuts."

She nodded and passed him the money. He smiled and opened the portfolio. "The contract is a basic contract of employment, detailing your duties, responsibilities and rules of conduct, including but not limited to situations that arise between students and teachers and exemptions."

She nodded. "There are seven areas of note that the contract seems to be addressing. The first note contains your primary duties. You are to act as the Defense against the dark arts professor, the Head of Security as detailed in the Hogwarts Acts of 1025, any and all professors acting in the guise of Defense agains the dark arts will hereby be called upon in time of war to defend Hogwarts all all contained within her."

"Does that mean if, in the event of Voldemort's attack, I have to defend the school myself,or coordinate a plan of attack?"

He smiled. "It is your duty to plan attacks and protect students up and with your life, if you agree with note one."

"Well, I am an auror, so I have no problem with that."

Note two. As Defense against the Dark arts professor, you are head of the Hogwarts Defense league. This section of pupils has not been active in three hundred years, and as an added bonus, outrank the prefects, and Heads. The teachers may only take points from these pupils, and only you can assign detentions.

She nodded. He smiled.

Note three. As Defense against the dark arts professor, you are also head of the Defense Department of Hogwarts. It is active, and all teachers and the Defense League are held as equals.

Note four. As Defense against the dark arts professor, you are in charge of teaching dueling, and other areas up to and containing if you deem, the dark arts. Albus Dumbledore has petitioned this area to be cut out, but as of yet has been ignored. You can teach this area to any student you deem worthy as long as you are active in the Defense League. As he is Headmaster, you cannot teach other students this skill.

Note five. You are in charge of the operation and safety of the Hogwarts Express. It will be your primary job, on September the first, to make sure no student is come to harm."

Note six. Wards. You are in charge of maintaining one-eighteenth of the wards. As you are the wife of the Potter family, and Harry Potter is the heir of Gryffindor, this part of the contract does not apply to you, unless you wish to take on this burden. It taps your magic core when you are asleep, and if the wards think they are threatened."

She sighed. "Can we firecall Harry, I'll ask him."

The man nodded and said, "who do i call for?"

"Call for Black Manor, please."

A few minutes later a very worried and disgruntled Harry answered the fire. "Mr. Potter, I am Donato Ercole from Blake, Black and Black, Attorneys. I have Nymphadora Tonks-Potter here on behalf of herself and the family Potter."

Harry looked at her. "What's up, Dora?"

She blushed. "Well, I need to know if you want to take the wards that I was supposed to take as the new Defense teacher this year, or if you want to take them yourself as is your birthright?"

Harry sighed and said, "whatever you thinks best Dora. Preferably, I would take them but I know whether you or I do, it will be fine."

She smiled and said, "Alright, I'll let him take the wards, then, sir."

Donato smiled and said, "alright. Note seven. And this rule does not necessarily apply to you, though you would think it would. As the Defense against the dark arts teacher, you are not to have any formal relationship with a student."

She winced. "Um... that's kind of obsolete isn't it. I'm married to Harry, so I'm pretty sure...".

"As I said before, this rule does not apply to you. Salazar Slytherin married a student before she entered into her sixth year, and as the student was of age at the time, it did not matter. As long as Mr. Potter turns sixteen before you go back to Hogwarts then you are safe from this law under Hogwarts Teachers Act of 1173, any student/teacher relationship must be known beforehand, and the student in question must be sixteen years of age, or older, and be able to maintain a family enviroment.

Tonks grinned, picked up the quill and said, "Where do I sign?"

The man grinned and said, "Just sign here, Mrs. Tonks-Potter, and I will send this file to Hogwarts as soon as possible."

She signed. "I will talk to my husband about retaining your services, Mr. Ercole, it has been a pleasure doing business with you."

He grinned, stood and walked the young metamorphmagus to the door, and said, "Any time Mrs. Tonks-Potter."

Exiting the room of Donato Ercole, Tonks grinned and walked out of the room watching as the secretaries tried to gain her attention. As she left the building, Tonks smiled in satisfaction.

As she apparated, she sighed in relief, Auror Goldsmith had spotted her and tried to gain her attention.

She appeared in her and Harry's room, and sighed in relief. He was sitting at his desk, reading a parchment, and chewing on a sugar quill, trying with all his might, it would seem, to figure out a problem.

She walked over to him, and placed her hands on his shoulders, right about his shoulder blade, and began to rub and grip, in a very slow motion.

"Wotcher Harry. What're you workin on?"

He reached up, pulled her mouth to his and kissed the woman before him. "Good morning Dora. It was awkward waking without you there this morning. I'm just working on some Transfiguration Homework, what are the advantages and disadvantages of metamorphmagus transformations."

She perked up at that. "Really, well... can I see it, Harry."

He sighed. "Well... this came from the textbook, shows what people think of metamorphmagus, in my opinion, though I do know it's wrong."

She picked up the paper and sighed.

Metamorphmagus: An Introspective Look
Harry James Potter

Metamorphmagus are interesting in a few ways. They have the ability to change their body to match that of their deepest and utmost desire. The textbook gives several examples of why the metamorphmagus are perfect mates. While I certainly disagree with these statements, as I really want a good grade I'll give a few of the 'answers' that are presented.

First, metamorphmagus have the ability to change physical aspects of their bodies. While this has a great hindurance, in the cases of most metamorphmagus I know who can never grow into their bodies, it makes it easier for metamorphmagus too become aurors. Their abilities can't be traced by spells meant to show the proper shape a person takes.

This is because metamorphmagus, unlike the counterpart, animagus, are whatever shape they take.

From a scientific standpoint, most people would make a habit of finding what magical syndrome creates the metamorphmagus and try to activate that using dark spells and whatnot.

In a relationship, however, is where... according to the books at least, where the real virtue of the metamorphmagus comes into effect. As a part of their imbred beliefs, metamorphmagus are virgins up to and until their wedding night. After that night, when they lose their virginity, the metamorphmagus lose their ability to alter their shape.

They take on a permanent shape, one that makes the innermost, subconscious form that their life partner takes. Not having the ability to change their shape after losing their virginity, most metamorphmagus that are aurors are forbidden from marrying.

After that time, however, they become homemakers and sluts to their husbands, using the term husband lightly.

Now, for a retrospective look and rebuttal.

As the spouse of a metamorphmagus, I must say that the entire section on the metamorphmagus is wrong. It is true that the metamorphmagus, after marriage, usually lose the ability to shift, but that is because the people they are marrying have this idea about the 'perfect' looking wife.

They also seem to think that the metamorphmagus becomes their personal property after marriage, that they can order the metamorphmagus to... perform oral acts and they have to obey. It is this type of thinking that separates most metamorphmagus from wanting to enter wizarding life.

Maybe the reason that people are so negative to the metamorphmagus is because this book is written by a man, and not a woman who could probably tell you differently.

The truth of the matter is, coming from experience, the ideals and prejudices that affect metamorphmagus are not true. They can't, for example, keep balence because they shift all the time, and it's hard to find that center of gravity for them.

They don't enter relationships because of the fact that men see them as toys and not people with gifts.

And they don't, in some cases, lose the ability to shift after they are married.

Just ask my wife, the lovely pink haired Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who never keeps to a 'normal' color.

She looked up, startled, when she finished reading the paper, and kissed him soundly. Tears leaking down her face, Tonks pulled Harry into a loving, and embracing hold that give him hope for the future that was missing before.

After the post came, Harry reached up. Hedwig had joined them for breakfast this morning, and was eating the rinds from the bacon that was left, when a pink envelope flittered down and landed on Tonks', who was feeding said rinds to Hedwig, plate.

She opened the letter, after the normal detection spells and paled. Passing said letter to her husband, she sat back in both anger and embarrassment.

Dearest lovely Nymphadora,

It is the wonderful, charming, and devilishly handsome Auror Johnathon Goldsmith, asking for you to accompany me this evening to a fine dinner and wine at the Ritz Wizardom.

This dress was made specifically for you, and I'm sure you will be most pleased with it.

After words, we can go to my place and you can 'test' those poor bonds of marriage, and I can show you how a real man woos a woman.

Awaiting your answer,

John

P.S. This lovely scent is one I like to call, "Sinful Delight," simply wonderful isn't it?

"I notice that I don't get an invitation... I'm hurt." Harry said through gritted teeth. She grinned and said, "I don't know... I think you'd be glad not to get this from a guy, Harry."

Harry grinned and said, "well.. true. But, I think I'm more PISSED that he'd even think of sending this... I mean if you wanted to go then you could... but I know... with the way you responded to this heap of shit, that you don't want to right?"

She nodded.

"Is it illegal to attack aurors?"

She shook her head, "not if you have good reason. Let's get Shack' and go see ol' Johnny-boy, eh?"

The look on Harry's face would have the most powerful of wizards running in fear.

She stood shivering outside of the Ritz Wizardom, awaiting her next 'big break'. She had been following Auror Goldsmith, on word from the Auror department that she'd have a big one coming at 9:00 that evening.

Needless to say, Rita Skeeter was not a happy woman. She had been standing here for no less than two hours and her scoop had not come in.

She was about to leave, when out of nowhere a blur of teal green hair, a tight, form-fitting red dress and long, silky legs caught her vision. She gasped, the sight of Nymphadora Tonks-Potter one that she was used to seeing, as a trophy-wife to Harry Potter more than anything, and she was with Johnny.

Taking her animagus form, Rita went, and buzzing in Johnny's hair, sat down listening to the conversation.

".. so glad you came Nymphy, maybe tonight we'll get to see whether or not it's true that Metamorphmagus' are better?"

"I'm telling you for the last time to leave me alone. I am not your girlfriend, and I am most certainly here for you. As a matter of fact, Johnaton, I'm getting sick and tired of you harassing me, and daring to be inappropriate with me."

"But Nymphy, you wore the dress that I bought you! You're supposed to fall in love with me... the potion said so!"

"Potion, eh? What kind of potion... handsome?"

"Just an exclusive love potion, Nymphy. I got it from Lucius Malfoy, you see. He told me that he'd heard it did wonders on women that play hard to get. It's the one he uses for his more... unwilling... counterparts."

"And you just look the other way then?"

"It got me you, didn't it? Of course I looked the other way, Nymphy. And... well I haven't really got you... yet."

"True Johnny. Why don't you tell me more of how you want to woo me?"

As if a signal, Tonks grew her breasts and enlarged her nipples. She smiled at him flatteringly and said, "any man that would break the law just to woo me can't be all bad, right?"

You could feel the discomfort in the room as Goldsmith shifted his body and tried to cover up his arousal at Tonk's advances. The man was grinning unhealthily at the metamorphmagus. "Of course not Nymphy, now lets go test these bonds of that marriage of yours."

Now, being the natural busy-body Rita was, she didn't dare pass up this oppurtunity. She grinned as she saw Goldsmith take Tonks by the hand and lead her out of the door. She followed, never noticing the two other aurors following her, or the one pissed off husband that was tailing them close behind.

They arrived at an old, dillapidated building in the projects, one the aurors new as the 'house of ill repute' in the area. He grinned at Tonks and said, "sorry luv, but a guy has to make a buck somehow."

She nodded at him and walked in after him, anxiety and fear increasing in herself. She wondered, briefly, if Harry were still watching. If he was, did he think less of her for allowing this sherade to go on as long as it had.

"So Johnny, who is this delectable little morsel you have tonight?"

"Well, you know me, Bruno. Always wanting the best for the family. So I brought the best the Wizarding World has to offer. A bitch that can become anyone you want her too. You want that Padma Patil your son has wanked over, you can get her. You want her sister, and you can have her too.

All that I ask is that she's in one shape when you're done, so I can have my fun too."

Bruno passed him a sack of golden galleons and said, "Well come on!"

Tonks was worried at this point, until someone said, "I don't think so, Bruno. I figured John was into some of the family business, because he was too legit for too long. It's over, you can stand down now Tonks."

She grinned and said, "thank heavens, I thought I was about to... well... I really don't want to talk about it. Where's Harry?"

"Right here, love." Harry said, his wand pointing at the ex-auror with a snarl on his face, one mirrored by Goldsmith.

"What, how?" he asked.

Harry glared at him. "She's a metamorphmagus. That love potion was made specifically for a 'c' cup woman. As soon as she was to change, we found out, she'd get control of herself. That means as soon as you thought about her changing, in any way, she'd revert back to normal. Isn't it wonderful how badly Lucius has gotten you into trouble?"

"Lies, I tell you! You believe me, don't you Shack!"

"I find it hard to believe sympathizers of Lord Voldemort, Goldsmith. You are under arrest for violating Section 0071 of the Auror Guild, consorting with the known enemy. You will hand over your badge, your wand and come quietly, or I have been authorized to use force."

Goldsmith sneered. "So you're up his arse too then Shack. Well, since this is going to the Minister anyway, I guess we have no choice but to report you as a traitor, consorting with Potter of all people."

Kingsley was shocked. "You mean... you dare to accuse me... ME... of consorting with the enemy when you.... I see what this is all about. You, and Fudge, were both jealous that Harry got Tonks here. So you both... it was a conspiracy.... Harry, it's up to you. It was your wife that was almost befiled today, and so it's your decision what punishment is due according to the old laws."

Harry looked at Goldsmith with uncaring eyes. "Azkaban. Put him in the lowest depths of Azkaban where the fucking dementors can eat on his soul. I don't really care how long."

Goldsmith looked at Harry with eyes wide in fear. As a final rope circled his arms, Goldsmith stuttered, "You'll never get away with this... neither of you. The Minister will see passed your bias and release me."

Shacklebolt shrugged. "If he's stupid enough to try and interfere with The Law of Blood Rites then he deserves whatever he gets, Goldsmith. You commited the crime, by your own admission against a member of the Old Family, and you did it to get her to bed you after making money using her abilities. It would have killed her had you ordered her to enjoy it, so we've got you on the attempted murder charge, attempted sexual assault, successful mind control and others that I'm sure you already know.
Don't press your luck going for broke."

Goldsmith screamed the entire time he was taken away, Bruno was the smarter one and had disapparated when they were distracted.

Lord Voldemort was not happy at this particular moment in time. One of the new recruits reported in that Wormtail was successful in his attempt to gain the knowledge of the Potter fortune.

What he found out pissed him off. Currently said messenger was on his side, in the fetal position, trying to block out the pain of one of the Dark Lord's Cruciatus Curses.

"WORMTAIL!"

The rat animagus ran into the room, falling at Voldemort's feet for the briefest of seconds before kissing the hem of the man's robes. "Yes m-my Master?"

"Wormtail, what exactly does this figure mean to you?"

The rat gulped. "Well sire, it is the amount of the Potter and Black family fortune combined. If this is not the information you wanted, My Master, then I will gladly take any punishment you deem necessary."

Voldemort sighed. "Arise, you pathetic buffoon. I have a great honor to bestow upon you."

Wormtail stood up. Voldemort motioned to his left, where Narcissa Malfoy stood, bare, and looking for the life of her that she would rather be anywhere else. The rat man grinned and, motioning to her, led her away after kissing his Master on the hem of his robes and thanking him profusely.

All Voldemort could do the entire time was grin and think, "that's one less snivelling man that I have to deal with when I get Lucius out of Azkaban."

"Harry" Tonks called him softly as they got home that night. He looked over at the woman that shared his bed with slight confusion. She smiled. "I've been thinking. That report due to McGonagall... it's going to be really hard for you to prove that without me shifting upon command for you."

He looked at her, realization showing through his eyes. "Oh my... I didn't... I'm so sorry Dora. I... I thought you'd like the report better if it was based on truth and not the lies that the Wizarding World were used to hearing, or reading in this case."

"Flattery will get you everywhere, Harry, I'm not mad. I'd love nothing more than for you to take me right there in the Great Hall, show the world that you're my husband and I... your wife, but we can't do that. It's going to be hard enough on us to keep our relationship in our chambers. What I do want you to do is not refer to me, in that report, as your wife. In a classroom setting I have to be your teacher, in private, I CAN be your wife. Do you understand?"

Harry nodded. "I do understand Dora. I figured since this was going to Professor McGonagall that I would be able to refer to you as such, it's not like anyone else is going to read it."

Tonks sighed. "Harry, EVERY teacher will want to read your report, that's why they gave your class that assignment. Everyone wants to know what you, the only person alive married to a metamorphmagus with enough popularity to get a voice for us, has to say about us. She will, more than likely, publish that paper just to get a point across."

Harry sighed. "Come on love, let's go to sleep. We've got a hard month yet."

A giggle escaped Tonks as she felt Harry's reaction to her pressing against him. "You can say that again, Harry".

A growl escaped Harry's lip, "You little Nymph."

"Only for you, Harry, only for you."
