I had been meaning to write this song for a long time, and I finally forced myself into it by writing my "senior paper" on the subject of the song and incorporating the song into the accompanying Powerpoint presentation. Their profits have taken a bit of a dip.
Consequently, their lids they have really flipped.
They say that downloads are to blame
Despite the fact that no evidence backs their claim.
Oh, why should we heed
An authority who abuses the citizens to satisfy their own greed?
'Tis a sin indeed.
They charge a fortune for music that's often worth naught,
Then they blow their tops when no albums are bought.

And they look for some lawsuits to hurl.
They try to win the allegiance of the world
By taking money from a twelve-year-old girl.
Since to their onslaught there seems no buffer,
Let's boycott their product and make their economic condition rougher...
Let's make them suffer!
Artists can sell their music online directly to consumers,
And ditch the distributors this nation's malignant tumors.
People can tell what's good by trying
And discover artists whose music is really worth buying.
To tell the truth, there is no denying...
Face it, [Cary] Sherman your business is dying.
Soon will come the day,
When artists will collect their pay,
And the RIAA will have gone away.
