Reasons Why
A Relationship Between Severus Snape and Luna Lovegood would work because...
1. They shared similiar childhoods
When Snape was younger, he was often singled out and picked on by Hogwarts classmates, much like Luna is now. They both know what its like to not be accepted by their peers and to be called names and taunted.
2. They use anti-social behavior to mask their true feelings
No matter what anyone says, Snape really isn't evil but he likes to give the impression that he is. It's obvious that he had a rough childhood and may deem himself as unworthy of love. Luna, on the other hand, may be using her odd behavior as a way to mask her feelings over her mother's death.
3. They are both heroes in their own right
Luna fought along side Harry at the Department of Mysteries when she didn't have to. She could have easily stayed at Hogwarts but she knew she was needed there. She didn't have to go, especially since Harry and his gang never really treated her with respect. And Snape has gone out of his way to show loyality to Dumbldore and has risked his life to do so. Also, both have helped Harry when they didn't have to.
4. They balance each other out
Snape and Luna have two very different personalities. Luna is carefree and believes in things most wizards and witches don't while Snape is straight forward and guarded. A relationship between these two could give them both life lessons. Luna would see past Snape's dark exterior and find the light within.
