Are You Serving Jesus?

Are You Serving Jesus?

What's the work that the Lord has given you to do for him?

"For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority
to his servants, and to every man his work" (Mark 13:34).

What's the cross that the Lord has asked you to take up for him daily?

"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow
me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my
sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and
lose himself, or be cast away?" (Luke 9:23-25).

"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So
we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then
gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy
according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that
teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with
simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness"
(Romans 12:4-8).

"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can
faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say
unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those
things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works,
is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one
God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man,
that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had
offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works
was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and
it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then
how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the
harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another
way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also"
(James 2:14-26).

"Thou wicked and slothful servant... Cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:26, 30).
