Have You Been Baptized?

Have You Been Baptized?

"Be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38).

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16).

"Baptism doth also now save us" (1 Peter 3:21).

If you haven't been baptized yet, "Why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy
sins, calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22:16).

"What doth hinder me to be baptized?" (Acts 8:36).

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into
his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness
of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in
the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead
is freed from sin" (Romans 6:3-7).

You can ask to be water baptized at any Baptist church.

Besides our complete immersion (symbolic burial) in water, once we become believers
we must also receive the Holy Spirit:

"Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" (Acts 19:2).

This is usually done through the laying on of hands:

"When they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the
name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women... Then laid they their hands
on them, and they received the Holy Ghost" (Acts 8:12, 17).

"When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul
had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues,
and prophesied" (Acts 19:5-6).

You can ask for the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit at any Pentecostal or
Charismatic church.
