| Our baby boy, Ben, came home after making friends and memories in the NICU for 13 days. The day he was released from the hospital was one of the happiest days of my life. After feeling robbed of the happy and precious experience during his delivery, and feeling scared and alone so many times during his first days of life, I was finally estatic! I had some good times too. When Ben was taken off of the c-pap machine, when he graduated from level 3 to level 2 in the NICU, when he got his IV out, when he started to breastfeed, all of those moments were good ones. I made some friends too. It is hard not to make friends when you share such a trial with other parents and spend every possible waking moment rocking your babies together. |

| SAYING GOODBYE TO THE NICU! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We spent our first night together at the Ronald McDonald house. It was so wonderful to have him with us! I just could hardly believe it!!! When we got home his older brother and sister couldn't get enough of him either. They always wanted to hold him, help dress him, play with him, smile at him, talk to him, and just sit and look at him. Of course being so little and premature, we had to be careful. Every one made it a habit to wash hands when coming into the house and use hand sanitizer before touching Ben or any of his things. |

| Big brother, Nick, volunteering to snap up Ben's pajamas. He didn't want to change the diaper though! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| So, Ben has been home with us for two months now and is now 12 weeks old! He is doing great and now weighs in at a healthy 12 lbs 5 oz!!! Our main trial that still continues is acid reflux which causes excessive spitting up, so he takes medicine for that. But it could be so much worse and I am so thankful for our blessings, namely; Benjamin, Tatiana, and Nicholas! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Look at Ben now! At 2 1/2 years old he is an active, adorable, very intellegent little man! He has had a few minor issues along the way. He was hospitalized for 3 days when he was three months old for RSV. He had major ear infections and needed ear tubes put in. And now he is in speech therapy for delayed speech. But his IQ testing put him at the top of the charts and he is probably the happiest little man you'd ever meet! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
