THREE RIVERS WARD OVERVIEW

MAP KEY

A: The Slums: Located beneath the walled town and acting as its midden, this collection of ill-kept hovels is constructed from the Ward's cast-offs. Likewise, it is the home to the dregs of the town's humanity. The town's brute laborers, farm serfs, beggars and other riff-raff call this squalid sty their home.

B: Yeoman's Quarter: The home of Three River's free citizen farming community. They are the owners and operators of the local farms that supply the Ward with its food supplies as well employ the Ward's serfs. Year-round residents, they are arch-conservatives and regard the 'Townies' and faire-goers as a scurrilous and untrustworthy lot. Fortunately, they are well-able to fend for themselves--the majority of the male population being retired Wardens.

C: The Warden Garrison: The western section of the walled town serves as the fortified base of the Ward's 2 active companies of Wardens. Like a sentinel, it stands watch over the local area, insuring law, order, and safety for all. WardColonel VonKerchow, commandant of the Ward, is the defacto Lord of the town.

D: The Merchants' Quarter: The home of the much derided 'townies'--year round merchants that offer goods and services for the permanent residents of the ward as well as any unwary travelers. They are also the hosts and operators of the Three River's Faire--bringing in needed imports as well as padding their own profit margins in the process.

A detailed map of the walled town can be found HERE

E: The New Aveon Enclave: The western end of the South Faire is dominated by the enclave of merchants from the Free City of New Aveon. Behind their guarded palisade, they offer the best goods of both the Aeropa and the distant East. Items of almost every sort conceivable can be found here if the offered price is right. There is also a delegation from New Aveon's mage-circle for more arcane matters.

F: The Merchants' Enclave: Although not of the same quality and variety as the New Aveoner goods, the better quality Aeropan goods can be found here. Craftsman of all types dominate the area. A person of means can most likely find any item or service they might desire here.

G: The Scribes' Enclave: Booksellers, sages, copyists, herbalists, and other more esoteric items and services are located here.

H: Shepherds' Enclave: Set off on the north side of the Faire, the various animal vendors offer up their wares. In the matter of minutes, a discerning buyer can purchase both his means of conveyance and next meal with little effort.

I: Drunkards' Enclave: Dominated by the large pavilions of the various drinking and dining halls, the brave faire-goer can fill his glass and dine on one or more of the various 'meat' dishes offered up for sale. Although the Warden's do much to discourage it, ladies of low morals are rumored to haunt the place offering to satisfy other 'hungers'.

J: Fools' Enclave What is a Faire without entertainment? This area is filled with street performers, jesters, and wandering minstrels. There is also a small circus (shows twice daily), Bardic College (shows nightly), a carnival, gambling houses, a troupe of actors, and a gypsy encampment.
