HOLLADAY POST '71' HOUSE RULES
1. The Club welcomes all members of the American Legion, Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and their guests.
2. The House Rules governing the Club have been established for the good of all. PLEASE do not ask for any special privileges. Any infraction of these rules will be cause to cancel your club privileges, which can be reinstated only by the approval of the Post Executive Committee.
3. All club rules and regulations governing members, guests and employees shall be formulated and approved by the Executive Committee.
4. A copy of the House Rules will be posted on the club premises and a copy, including any amendments or changes, shall be mailed to each member of Holladay Post '71'.
5. The club management shall be required to report any infraction of the House Rules to the Executive Committee. Any member violating any of the House Rules shall be subject to reprimand, fine, suspension or expulsion from the club by the Executive Committee.
6. No posters, calendars or other advertising matter shall be displayed in the club unless specifically authorized by the management or Executive Committee.
7. The club will not be responsible for loss or damage of personal property of the members or their guests, in the club or on the premises.
8. Members MUST present their current membership card when entering the club, when requested. Cards may be requested by any current member in good standing.
9. It is the responsibility of the bartender or employee on duty to check ALL patrons for a current card or eligibility, before they will be served.
10. Any member refusing to show a current legion card, will not be served, and will be asked to leave the club.
11. The club does not authorize direct or over night tabs to ANYONE.
12. The club management has been authorized to refuse to cash any check at any time. Other rules governing the check cashing policy are as follows:
a. All checks cashed at Post 71 must be plainly legible and must bear the members name, current address, telephone number, driver's license number, (as required by the courts) and the members post number.
b. Anyone writing two consecutive checks, that has been returned marked "Insufficient Funds", will loose their check writing privileges. A fee will be assessed to each check. If 'said' checks are not paid within 10 days of notice, they will be sent to a collection agency for payment.
c. Any bartender that cashes a check for a person who is on the delinquent list, will be responsible for that check.
d. Checks for dues must be made for the exact amount and attached to a completed application. Membership cards will not be issued until the check has cleared, and your eligibility has been verified by the Executive Committee.
13. All complaints or suggestions must be submitted in writing to the club management for presentation to the Executive Committee for action.
14. Holladay Post'71' RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE.
15. Any Gambling among members or guests is ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED.
16. Members shall be permitted to bring any reasonable number of guests, not to exceed 10(ten), into the club, subject to the following rules:
a. Member must sign his guests into the guest book.
b. The guests must come and leave with the member.
c. Member is responsible for the conduct of their guests.
17. The following rules govern who may be signed in as a guest:
a. Any past member of the club within the previous year, may not be signed in.
b. Any person eligible to join the American Legion may be signed in as a guest, ONLY TWICE before becoming a member of the club.
c. On duty employees are not allowed to sign guests into the club.
d. Only current members in good standing are allowed to sign in a guest.
18. LIQUOR SALES: Pertaining to Open and Closing Laws
a. Alcoholic beverages may be sold from 10am until 1am daily except on Sundays and Holidays; the hours being noon until midnight. On a State or National election, day liquor may not be sold until the polls are closed. On a local election day, liquor may be sold unless prohibited by a local ordinance.
b. The liquor storage area must remain locked when liquor sales are not permitted.
c. The sale of beer can commence at 10am daily, unless a Federal, State or County ordinance prohibits it.
d. Any patron may not pour one drink into another to make it stronger. No more than 1 (one) ounce of alcohol is allowed per serving: exception a Fancy Drink.
e. As of January 2000, a member or guest may not bring onto the premises, any alcoholic beverage, for on-premises consumption; exception: A patron may bring in corked-wine providing it is not a brand sold by Post 71.
19. Positively no alcoholic beverages are to be sold and/or served to a minor.
20. There shall be no alcoholic beverages taken from the premises, at any time.
21. The bar may be closed during special meetings and the membership will be notified as far in advance as possible.
22. There shall be no drinking in the legion meetings. Any member who is being boisterous or intoxicated, will be invited to leave the meeting.
23. Minors are allowed in the club when meals are served and on other occasions, as specified in the newsletter. Minors must remain with the member and must stay a minimum distance of not less than ten (10) feet away from the bar, including the pool table area.
24. No animals will be allowed in the club.
25. Any member removing, damaging or destroying club property, will pay for damages, and may have their membership suspended by action of the Executive Committee.
26. Excessively loud, boisterous, profane or vulgar language will not be tolerated.
27. The employee in charge, has full authority to enforce these House Rules and may eject any member for misconduct or violation of these rules. Members have the right of appeal to the Executive Committee, if necessary.
MEMBERS AND GUESTS ARE KINDLY REQUESTED TO ABIDE BY THE
HOUSE RULES AND TO KEEP THE CLUB AND PREMISES CLEAN AND TIDY.
