Vanilla Bean Custard

                   2 cups whole milk
                   1 cup cream
                   1/2 Vanilla Bean

Combine ingredients. Heat in pan until warm.

                   3/4 cup sugar
                   1/4 cup cornstarch
                   1/4 teaspoon salt
                   3/4 cup whole milk
                   4 each egg yolks

In double broiler whisk over low heat. Add above mixture and whisk until

thickened. This will take 10 minutes. Then cover and let cook 8 more
minutes without stirring.

                   2 tablespoons butter
                   2 tsp. vanilla extract

Add butter and whip 2 more minutes.

*Note: when custard is finished you can add such things as chocolate
chunks, roasted bananas, or a good shot of espresso.
