| ABOUT ME I grew up on a small hobby farm in Central Illinois. As with most country kids, I joined 4-H. I started off with a poultry project, and soon after added Satin rabbits. A few years later I was introduced to ARBA rabbit shows and APA poultry shows. I showed as a youth for a few years, then when it came time for college, I sold the rabbit herd and most of the poultry. After I received my degree, I started building up the poultry flock again. Ive raised several breeds, but specialized in Golden Laced Wyandotte Large Fowl and Spangled Cornish Bantams. I currently have a very small flock of long tail breeds that I am enjoying. I rarely show any birds, now they are more for my own backyard enjoyment. In 2000, I found myself purchasing some Netherland Dwarf Rabbits. I was a little hesitant about the breed at first, but have immensely enjoyed breeding and showing them. Now I cant imagine my rabbitry without them. I strive for type, and work with many colors. I am especially trying to improve the Sable Point and Lilac varieties. I am passionate about showing rabbits. I attend just about every local show within a 3 hour radius, and I always attend ANDRC Nationals and ARBA Convention. I am proud to now be president of the INDSC and Region 5 Director of the ANDRC. In 2005, I added the Himalayans to the rabbitry. I intended to have them only long enough to learn the breed, but I have come to love them and have enjoyed good success in showing them. I only keep a few, but they are permanent fixtures. In 2007, I added Satins, which I raised as a Youth. I am finding it a much more competitive breed than it was back in my Youth days. Still, I am enjoying the challenge and like haing a 6 class breed. I also judge poultry &/or rabbits at several county and 4-H fairs each year. Feel free to contact me about judging yours if you are located near me. I am a licensed ARBA Registar and am currently working towards my ARBA judges license. Enjoy your visit to my site. Should you need to contact me, please email. I am not on-line all the time, so please be patient for a reply. |
