Luigi's Mansion
Our plucky green plumber receives the spotlight!
But should Luigi mooch it while he can, or does he bring home the bacon, eggs, pancakes, orange juice, and syrup? Stats: Name: Luigi's Mansion Genre: Action/Adventure Console: Nintendo GameCube ESRB Rating: E (for everyone) Players: 1 Developer: Nintendo Releade Date: November 18, 2001 Graphics: 10 Play the game and tell me that this does not have some of the best graphics conceivable. Really, I dare you to say that to me, and I'll smack you. Real-time cinematic effects, elements, attack, dust, and what-not is represented exquisitely. Sound: 9.7 Music is great, especially from full orchestra to whistling Luigi. The techno theme in the credits is also a nice touch. And the instruments in the music room playing Super Mario Bros., that was nice. Gameplay: 9.9 Sucking up ghosts into a vacuum is a relatively odd method of gameplay, but that's what makes it so loveable. Plus, seeing Luigi cower in fear is funny. There are lots of challenges in store, and a hidden mansion... Control: 10 Okay, it takes getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it will be all natural. Using the C-Stick to change direction of face and the Control Stick to move around is genius. You gotta be quick to play. Replay Value: 9.9 The hidden mansion and trying to buy a better Luigi house will mean you'll want to play it again. Try for quickness or for accuracy. Overall Rating: 9.9 Let's face it. Miyamoto and Yamauchi deliver yet again. For those people who were expecting a killer Mario game for launch, play this one anyway. Luigi is just as good.
