| This is my 1987 Oldsmobile 442. I bought the car in March of 1998 with 114,000 miles on it. The car was the cleanest one of the six or so I had looked at up to that point. I originaly bought the car to drive down Route 66 along with a frined of mine and his '84 Z-28, after the trip I was going to sell it and buy something more practical. Well plans changed and we never went on the trip, and I fell in love with the car and couldn't sell it (or should I say my wife won't let me sell it). Shortly thereafter I decided that I couldn't drive it every day either or it would end up just like the other cars I had looked at before it, so I bought another '87 442 (nicknamed "The Beater") for everyday use. About six months after I bought the car I happened across a set of lightning rods and as you can see they are now in the car. The car isn't perfect but it's straight and the lacquer cracked factory paint still shines so I'll drive it that way until I can afford to get it repainted. |
