| PERRY Most of what we knew about our Perry family, until recently, was a collection of snippets gleaned from our grandmother when we were very young. Hindsight being what it is, I wish now that more questions had been asked , as it would have made this search easier than it has been. Patience and perseverence have once again paid off and I can now add some history to this branch of the family. As it turns out we are a descendant of Jehan Poirier of France. Robert Poirier b. 1814 married Scholastique-Catherine Leblanc 8.Simon Poirier b.ca1836 at Cheticamp,N.S. married 20Nov1860 Charlotte Chevarie b.ca.1835 Souris, P.E.I. 9.Charles Poirier b.2 May1865 at Harvre-aux-Maison, baptized at Ste-Madeleine 20Aug1856 married at Etang-du-Nord 10Oct1892 to Esther Leblanc, daughter of John Leblanc and Margaret Burke. Second marriage 8Aug1899 at Etang-du-Nord to Aline (Olive)Noel 10. Mary Esther Perry b. 29Dec1898 , daughter of Charles and Esther. Married Stanley Joseph McNamara |
