Mint
can be very invasive when planted directly into the
ground. Therefore, I plant mine in a coffee can that
has both ends open. I sink the can in the ground, and
let the lip stick up about 1/4". This method can
help control the plant.
Chives are selfseeding,
and can become a nuisance. I snip off the buds before
they bloom.
Crops.I rotate my plants
from year to year. This helps to prevent soil-borne
diseases from infecting a new plant. Tomatoes are especially prone to
Verticillium Wilt. The fungus can live in the
soil for years, therefore, it is important to rotate
the plants.
