Good Point! A Response To Peace Movement Follies: A Proletarian Polemic

Alright, behind all that verbose and unintelligible prose, my 'comrade' was trying to say this: that the peace movement's primary folly is focusing on only the problem, not the causes of the problem.  As any gardener knows, to kill a weed one must do more than simply tear up the plant-the gardener must pull out the roots of the plant, and do whatever necessary to impede on another weed planting itself.  We must look past our simplistic, adversarial, often even blatantly hate-filled view towards the current administration, and see how and why they are able to abuse their vast amounts of power*. In this way, my communist friend makes a good point; in fact, he's hit the nail right on the head.

Of course, I far from agree with our communist friend's positions on the solution to the problem of our government's abuse of power.  Communists will speak with high-minded rhetoric about peace and freedom to grab the attention of misguided liberals, possibly gaining a few converts here and there-but what they always fail to mention is how their rhetoric will be carried out.  Marx says that the revolution will not only be worldwide, but fast and bloodless. And if you're able to swallow that wad, there's more-people will all of a sudden just stop wanting power and money, and live in harmony.  Doesn't this sound wonderful?  Under these conditions, I would support Communism; I'm sure everyone around the world would like to at least give it a try.  But in truth these philosophies are just that-philosophies.  It didn't come about in Marx's day, and even when there were communist revolutions, they were isolated, long, and extremely bloody.  In a state of anarchy, without any government at all, authoritarian regimes naturally rose up and, under the guise of being leaders of the proletariat, those regimes have brought into existence some of the most dictatorial and tyrannical governments in Earth's history.  Of course, today's communist will say that these revolutions were not truly communist, because they lacked certain picky little factors; perhaps they were not Marxist enough, perhaps they did not industrialize enough beforehand. But when a researcher tries an experiment again and again and again, and every time it fails, the researcher (as much as he may want the experiment to succeed) will eventually decide that the experiment is not viable, and move on to another project.  And as any open-minded, logical person can see, the manifesto set out by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels has failed in every case in which it was applied to bring about it's intended result.  It has only caused pain and distraction from what really needs to be done.  The experiment has failed; find another way to rebel, and stop annoying the rest of us.

*(In my opinion, the answer is staring us all in the face; that we must work towards limiting the power of the central government, that power which has naturally led to every corrupt act since president Roosevelt)

p.s. On another note, Nate Kavanaugh's rating may go up to seven out of ten for looking so pimp now!  A regular indie hipster, that kid is...
