Reggie And the Full Effect: Drunken Concert Review

On my way to Reggie and The Full Effect this past Thursday, I was totally psyched because I hadn't seen this magnificent band perform in many moons. I was more excited however to see if the girl I had been trying to talk to was going to be there. The last time I saw Reggie and the Full Effect, I saw this girl roughly my height (which is hella tall... I'm 6'1) with black hair next to me. I thought she was totally cute, but I didn't have the nerve to talk her because she was there with her boyfriend. I randomly ran into her last weekend at a midnight movie in Sacramento, this time without her boyfriend. I decided this time I would speak to her. Unfortunately, I threw up half way through the movie and lost my nerve due to bad vomit breath. Tonight, she was there but with that goddamned boy again. After seeing her kiss the boy, I decided to use my evening and my 21+ stamp (I am under 21 by the way) to drink my night away with my buddy Melissa.

I caught Midtown's set, and as usual, they were horrible. A strange matter of coincidence; every time I go to Slim's, Midtown is playing. Come seventh Jack and Coke, Reggie and the Full Effect took the stage and played all the classics from all three of their (his) albums. The show ended with mini-sets by British New Wave stars, Fluxuation and Finnish hardcore gods, Common Denominator. The crowd wasn't super enthusiastic, but by this point I had had nine Jack and Cokes and I was rocking along to all the tunes. Compared to the other Reggie and the Full Effect shows I have been to, it was my least favorite due to lack of schtick. It was however, better than 80% of shows I have been to. In the end, I downed 10...
