Aquarium Fish

Aquarium fish are really cool.  My dad has had this huge aquarium since before I was born.  Sometimes, I think he loves his fish more than me, but that's okay, because his fish are about a ton and a half cooler than I am.  You know, my dad left me at Harry's Farmer's Market one time.  He's never left his fish there.

Once, I tried to name his fish, but I couldn't ever remember which ones had which names, so that plan fell through.  But I still like to look at them. They're so carefree, just swimming around and stuff.  Actually, I'm looking at the fish now, and they're not really swimming around.  They're just sort of floating and being very stationary.  Maybe if I hit the glass really hard, they'd start moving.

Over winter break my dad went to Colorado and left my brother in charge of his fish tank.  My brother unplugged the filter one day when he was feeding the fish and forgot to plug it back in.  All of the fish died, and the whole house smelled like dead fish.  Mom started crying.  I think Dad did, too, when my mother called to tell him about the tragedy.  But then my dad just got a whole bunch of new fish when he came home, so I don't think he was really that sad.

I think that I would like to be an aquarium fish someday.  I like plastic plants and fake pirate ships.  Fish are undoubtedly the coolest aquarium-bound household pets.
