Okay, so now you know the basic controls, the weapons, the ships, and a little background of Continuum. What am I missing? Oh yes, the Messaging system In Continuum as a whole, there are many different ways to message people. From public, to team chat, to private chat, to being on a chat channel, you will need to know every one of them. lets start off with the easiest one, the public chat. There is nothing to the public chat, honestly. type something, anything and hit enter, and its automatically in public chat. EG: Hi *enter* YourSN> Hi Notice that public chat is displayed in blue. Now, what if you wanna send a message to JUST team members? You're gonna type something like this: EG: //Attack Now! or 'Attack Now! *enter* YourSN> Attack Now! Notice team chat is in yellow. This chat only goes to team members. And notice you have to type either // or ' in front of your message to make it a team message. Now, what if you want to private message someone? There are two ways to do this: First, you can "tick" on another players name in the message box by pressing "Page Up" or "Page Down" to move the little arrow on the left of the message box up or down to the name you want to "Tick", and then you type your message like this: EG:/Hey friend *enter* YourSN> Hey friend Or you can type out the persons name in between two colons (:) like so: EG: :Friend:Hey friend YourSN> Hey friend You can talk to people in other zones this way too. Now, How about a chat channel? First, you have to be on one. I'll use the sites chat as an example: EG: ?chat=AG2TW *enter* This joins the chat channel "AG2TW". You can even join more then one chat channel: EG: ?chat=AG2TW,Chat2 *enter* Notice that there is not space between the two chats, just a comma. This is extremely important. Now, how do you speak with these chats? Just like this: EG: ;this is chat 1 *enter* 1:YourSN> This is chat 1 You use a Semi-collon to speak to a chat. But what about that other chat? How do you speak to it? It's easier then you may think: EG: ;2;this is chat 2 *enter* 2:YourSN> This is chat 2 you can do this for up to 9 chats. After that you can have chats, but not speak to them. Knowing these chats can be very inportant to getting to be known in Trench Wars. Learn them and use them. Another way of chatting that isn't as frequently used is sending a message to people on the opposing team. You can accomplish this by pressing " before typing your message. Like so: "you are gonna die! *Enter* YourSN> you are gonna die! In order to do this, you have to have a player on the enemy team "Ticked." Now off to learn about squads and how they opperate. |
