Takeru "TK" Takaishi
Age: 11 (looks about 13)
Grade: 5th
School: Odaiba Elementary
Japanese Seiyuu: Takaishi Yamamoto
American Seiyuu: Doug Brhoitz
Crest and Armor: Hope
Digimon: Tokomon, Patamon, Angemon, MagnaAngemon, Pegasmon
Image Song(s): Be All Right, Little Brightness, Happy Friends, Focus, Steppin' Out

Riko-chan's Analysis: Takeru is Yamato's little brother. At first, Takeru is a bit of a crybaby and looks up to his brother with unfailing adoration, but he grows during his adventures in the Digital World. He becomes increasingly stronger as Season 01 goes on.
In the movie, Takeru and Yamato are at their grandmother's house. Their grandmother is a little deaf and kinda creepy...it's hard to believe that two gorgeous boys like them are related to her.....but hey....you never know! In the American version, Grandma falls on poor Takeru as he is giving her a massage.....the poor little boy hadn't had his growth spurt yet......oh my.
In Season 02, Takeru grows a LOT, much like Koushirou, and instead of his funny little helmet hat thingy, dons a fisherman's hat. He now plays basketball, and has become a little girl magnet, just like his big brother! He also catches the eye of Jun Motomiya, Daisuke's sister.....um.....that's just wrong. Takeru is no longer a crybaby and kind of reminds me of his brother....but still has that sweet nature. He and his mother move back into the Odaiba school district and he lives in the same apartment building as Miyako and Iori. Takeru and Daisuke seem to butt heads much like Yamato and Taichi used to. I sense a little bit of crushing with Takeru and Hikari, which drives Daisuke absolutely up the wall. That strong bond with Takeru and Patamon is still evident, but has matured a bit....actually, I thought that the two of them would be a bit more happy to see each other at the beginning of Season 02...but oh well.

Hikari "Kari" Yagami (Kamiya)
Age: 11 (looks about 13)
Grade: 5th
School: Odaiba Elementary
Japanese Seiyuu: Kae Araki
American Seiyuu: Lara Jill Miller
Crest and Armor: Light
Digimon: Nyramon, Salamon, Gatomon, Angewomon, Nefertimon
Image Song(s): Holy Light, Sunshine Smile, Yasashii Ame, Shining Star

Riko-chan's Analysis: Hikari is best known as "The Eighth Child". She and her brother Taichi were the first to see Koromon's Digiegg. In those days, Hikari was known to communicate solely by whistle...poor Taichi. She is among the original Digidestined Children, however, because of an illness, she was unable to go to camp when the other Digidestined were summoned to the Digital World. Hikari has this power of being able to communicate with certain entities which give her odd powers.
In the movie, she torments poor Taichi by sending his email to Sora with one "Cuh lika". She then goes to the birthday party of a really bratty girl and is unable to aid her brother, Koushirou, Yamato, and Takeru in battling Diablomon. I personally feel bad that she had to go to that girl's party.
Season 02 Hikari is....interesting. She is a guy magnet, attracting the attentions of Daisuke, Takeru, and Wallace. Instead of her whistle, she now has a digital camera which really doesn't serve much purpose except to look weird. She loves to tease all of the men who are hopelessly in love with her and tends to favor Takeru to make Daisuke jealous. Hikari is a very selfless girl who puts others before herself always.

Ken Ichijouji
Alias: The Digimon Kaizer
Age: 11 (Looks about 13)
Grade: 5th
School: Tamachi Elementary
Japanese Seiyuu: Romi Paku
American Seiyuu: Derek Stephen Prince
Digimon: Leafmon, Minomon, Wormmon, Stingmon
Image Song(s): Ankoku no Hohoemi, Only One, Hontou no Tsuyosa

Riko-chan's Analysis: Ken has often been called the Yamato of Digimon 02. He is quite famous for his incredible intelligence, soccer playing, excellence at video games (which he takes SUCH pride in, heh heh heh), and wonderful good looks. Ken is a boy genius....and knows it. Actually, I believe he may become as famous as Yamato! Ken believes that everyone is below him and that his intelligence makes him worth more than anyone else...this even goes for his parents who are very proud of him.
Ken is also known as the Digimon Emperor. He is the new enemy for the Digidestined and plans to enslave all the Digimon in the Digital World. He uses Dark Towers/Control Spires and Dark Rings to control his captured Digimon slaves. His digimon, Wormmon, loves him very much, but Ken pays him no attention and won't even let him fight instead of the slaves.
As evil as he seems, the Kaiser doesn't strike me as purely evil. If I'm going to make a prediction, I'd say that Ken is being partially controlled by the same thing that was making Yamato fall into that dark pit in "The Crest of Friendship". Ken ccomes off as a sweet, kind natured boy when he is being interviewed by the press and acts very civil toward Daisuke during the soccer tournament. I personally love Ken and I hope he stays on the show long.......I was very appalled to see that he wasn't in the movie.

Daisuke "Davis" Motomiya
Age: 11 (looks about 13)
Grade: 5th
School: Odaiba Elementary
Japanese Seiyuu: Reiko Kiuchi
American Seiyuu: Brian Donovan
Armor: Courage, Friendship, and Miracles
Digimon: Chicomon, Chibimon, V-mon, Fladramon, Raidramon, Lighdramon, Magnamon
Image Song(s): Adventure Heart, Goggle Boy (hehehhe!), 2-Top

Riko-chan's Analysis: Daisuke is basically a mini Taichi with a worse attitude. He is VERY brash and competitive. Daisuke has a big crush on Hikari and is very jealous of Takeru's friendship with her. He also idolizes Taichi who gave him his goggles and is a top soccer player. Daisuke idolizes Ken as well, until he finds out that he is the Digimon Kaiser. I don't particularly like Daisuke because of that annoyingly erratic behavior. I didn't like Taichi at first, so Daisuke is like a pain in my side....although I tolerate him. He is very jealous of Takeru and frequently messes up his name just to tick him off. Daisuke has a problem with dealing with his role in the Digidestined team. He doesn't quite understand the true meaning of friendship, but learns over time. His older sister, Jun, has a big fancy with Yamato (grrrrrrrr) and is about as high energy as he is. In the movie, Daisuke is still after Hikari's heart, but is faced with Wallace, another love competitor. ::Sigh:: Poor boy. He's so inexperienced.

Iori "Cody" Hida
Age: 9 (Looks AND acts about 11)
Grade: 3rd
School: Odaiba Elementary
Japanese Seiyuu: Megumi Urawa
American Seiyuu: Phrece Sampler
Armor: Knowledge and Reliability
Digimon: Tsubumon, Upamon, Armadilmon, Submarimon, Digmon
Image Song(s): Power of Earth, Boku no Ketsuron, Mirai e no Message

Riko-chan's Analysis: Iori is very wise. He kind of reminds me of Hikari when she was little. He has been described as Jyou and Koushirou combined. Iori studies kendo with his grandfather (who has this obsession with prune juice....I honestly don't know.....). He is the youngest of the Digidestined but is by far the wisest. He looks up to Jyou because of his reliablility and devotion to his friends. Iori and his digimon seem a bit mismatched, almost like Jyou and Gomamon....but their bond is very strong.

Miyako "Yolei" Inoue
Age: 12 (Looks about 14)
Grade: 6th
School: Odaiba
Japanese Seiyuu: Rio Natsuki
American Seiyuu: Tiffanie Chrieton
Armor: Love and Sincerity
Digimon: Pururumon, Poromon, Hawkmon, Holsmon, Shurimon
Image Song(s): Dancin' on the Sky, Crash de Bingo! , Fly High

Riko-chan's Analysis: Miyako is like a little Mimi....hyper and a bit ditzy. However one very large and noticible difference between the two is that Miyako is a computer expert and frequently helps Iori with his computer. She idolizes Mimi when she comes to visit Japan and makes a wish that they could be sisters....this is followed by a very scary sequence of "Oh Mimi, you're my beautiful sister. You're beautiful too, Yolei, and we live here in this beautiful house with a beautiful garden....." Oh my....a bit too many beautifuls...you all sound like Quatre from Gundam Wing..... Miyako also idolizes Koushirou and has a large crush on Ken. She is the oldest of the new Digidestined Children and frequently tries to tell the others what to do. Miyako likes to say the word "Perfecto!" Which reminds me of Koushirou's "Prodigious!". She eventually gets Mimi doing it too....infact, she's gotten me doing it too! PERFECTO! Miyako's parents own a convenience store, so she always has snacks for the Digimon. She was also one of the children who encouraged the Digidestined when they were battling Diablomon. If you watch the movie really closely when they flip through all the kids...look for her. She's really short and is struggling to fiddle with the computer....Miyako is so kawaii!

Wallace "Willis"
Age: 11 (looks about 14)
Grade: 5th
School: Some school in either Colorado or New York City
Webmaster Comment:(Colorado State University 4 years befor Digimon02, see movie)
Japanese Seiyuu: N/A
American Seiyuu: N/A
Armor: A gold Digiegg.....
Digimon: Terriermon and Kokumon
Image Song(s): N/A

Riko-chan's Analyisis: Wallace supposidly received his Digiegg the same time as Taichi and was given twin Digimon. In the American movie, he was the one who created Diablomon in his attempts to create more friends like Terriermon and Kokumon. I'm not sure if this was so in the original movie. Wallace is another ladies man. He calls Miyako and Hikari cute....and then Daisuke goes off on him.....go figure. Wallace gets more problems when Kokumon is meshed with a virus and goes on a rampage. This is the problem in the third movie, but it's kind of confusing. I hope that Wallace becomes a character in the regular series so that we can find more about him. Until then, this bio is very short...sorry Wallace....you're cute.

Jun Motomiya
Age: About 17 (looks like she's about 14)
Grade: 11th
School: Some High School

Riko-chan's Analysis: Ok, I know she's not a Digidestined child, but I thought I'd put her in her so I can rant and complain about how much I hate this girl. She looks like a female Taichi.....no, I take it back...not a female...she doesn't look like a female....either that or a Christmas tree. Jun is Daisuke's sister and is absolutely boy crazy. Her pursuits turn to poor poor poor Yamato. First, she asks him to sign her dirty shirt which she claims to not have washed in 2 years, then asks his LITTLE 11 YEAR OLD BROTHER to sign it (can we say pedophile?!), and THEN has the nerve to accuse Yamato of LYING (which he was, but we'll just forget that.....) And states that they will be going out on a date without even asking him! I mean, she got reservations for the most expensive restaurant in town and probably expects him to pay. And we all know that Yamato isn't exactly rolling in dough. The NERVE OF THAT GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUN, IF YOU LAY ONE FINGER ON MY YAMATO, I'LL RIP EVERY CHRISTMAS TREE HAIR OF YOUR HEAD!!! Thank you for listening. ^_^

Yamato "Matt" Ishida Age: 14 (Looks about 16)
School: Odaiba Junior High
Japanese Seiyuu: Yuuto Kazama
American Seiyuu: Michael Renz
Crest: Friendship
Digimon: Tsunomon, Gabumon, Garurumon, WereGarurumon, MetalGarurumon, Omnimon
Image Song(s): Walk on the Edge, Run With The Wind, Negai Kanaeru Kagi, Oretachi no Melody

Riko-chan's Analysis: Also known to some as "The lone wolf" Yamato is one of the more favored characters in Digimon Adventure. He's MY favorite! Things that help with that are not only his stunning good looks, but his rebellious personality. His quiet, cool nature is a beautiful contrast to the hyperactive Taichi. This leads to some Yaoi beliefs, but none have been confirmed(I certainly hope not!). Yamato has a natural hard shell as a result of his parents divorce and other hardships in his life. Underneath this shell is a sweet, sensitive boy who struggles with his emotions.
His biggest confident is Gabumon, his Digimon, and he also lets loose his emotions to Taichi on occasion. However, Yamato's heart can be overwhelmingly passionate. As a result of his parent's separation, he feels that he must shelter his brother Takeru from the cruel world. I'm gathering that this is because Yamato was old enough to fully remember his parents separating and the pain that went along with it. He doesn't want Takeru to experience that. Unfortunately this passion leads him to reveal his dark side.
The general opinion of Yamato is you either love him or hate him. Followers of Yamato and followers of Taichi tend to clash. The two boys on occasion brawl, and while this is entertaining to watch, it doesn't exactly aid in the mission. A quick note from me, in Sub Zero Ice Punch, the full fight is not shown in the edited American version between Yamato and Taichi. For those who are obsessed as I am, the punch score is 4 to 2...Yamato. And then Taichi ends up pinning him...HEY! Heh heh heh. Random thought.
Yamato tends to vent is emotions on one of two things. By opening up to Gabumon, or playing his harmonica. I believe that the harmonica represents Yamato's true self. He keeps it with him always, yet loses it when he almost loses himself in the cave (The Crest of Friendship). Although, an interesting concept is that in the American version, Yamato plays a mournful bluesy tune while in the Japanese version, it's very happy....go figure those happy Japanese! ^_^
In Season 02, Yamato's new haircut gives him a slightly different look, which I like....although that is a touchy subject with some who don't agree with me! My theory is that (if you have seen the Japanese version of Bokura no Wargame) Yamato got his hair cut that way in the Barber Shop where he and Takeru accessed a computer to help Taichi and Koushirou defeat the Diablomon. Yamato is still the cool boy we all know and love, but is a little more mature. As expected, his good looks get him attention of many girls.....unfortunately one of them being Jun Motomiya, Daisuke's sister.
Yamato has used his musicianship and taken up the bass guitar. He now sings in a band....America claims that he calls himself "The Digidestined Formerly Known As Matt" which is incredibly corny.....stupid yanks. He and Taichi still clash and fight, which is about as entertaining as Season 01. He tends to have a bit of a problem with Daisuke (who can blame him?) As the boy is basically a little Taichi.
You don't see much of Yamato in Season 02. The lame excuse is that he is very busy with his band.....but come on! We all know we want to see more Yamato! (Note to self, start a campaign for MORE MATT!) He pops in from time to time in the Digital World to see Gabumon and help save it.

Mimi Tachikawa
Age: 13 (looks about 15)
Grade: 7th
School: Somewhere in New York City
Japanese Seiyuu: Ai Maeda
America Seiyuu: Phrece Sampler
Crest: Sincerity/Purity
Digimon: Tanemon, Palmon, Togemon, Lilymon
Image Song(s): Sweet Innocent, Itsudemo Aerukara, Super Girl, Happy Smile

Riko-chan's Analysis: Mimi is a bit of a girly girl who puts very much emphasis on her appearance. However, she cares deeply for her friends and would do anything for them. Underneath her seemingly weak outside, she is a strong person and becomes a determined member of the Digidestined Children. Mimi's wit and charm comes in handy when it comes to making allies. She was able to rally a large group of Digimon to aid the Digidestined in their battle against the Dark Masters. Unfortunately for her, this charm has attracted unwanted Digimon admirers such as Numemon and Sukamon. Mimi also has a beautiful singing voice, however early in Season 01, she seemed to have a bit of a problem singing...plot hole there. All in all, it takes getting to know Mimi to start to like her.
In Season 02, Mimi has changed a lot since her days in Japan. She has taken on a more up to date outfit.....that has become very Americana. She has also dyed her hair pink with stars...go figure. It's Mimi. Her family has moved to New York City, but she still keeps in touch with the other digidestined via email and telephone (if Yamato doesn't put her on hold too much!). She comes to visit Japan and becomes an idol of Miyako's. Mimi's energy and attitude make her a favorite among fans.

Jyou "Joe" Kido Age: 15 (looks about 17)
Grade: 9th
School: Some private Junior High
Japanese Seiyuu: Masami Kikuchi
American Seiyuu: Michael Lindeay
Crest: Reliability
Digimon: Pukamon, Gomamon, Ikkakumon, Zudomon
Image Song(s): Kaze ni Mukatte,Sora wo Crawl,Blue Faith,Chigau Bokuga Iru

Riko-chan's Analysis: Jyou lives up to his crest. He is very reliable, but also a bit paranoid. He has the ambition of becoming a doctor, but personally, I think he'd faint at the very sight of blood. Jyou is the oldest of the original digidestined, and looks out for everyone. He tries his best to break up the fights between Yamato and Taichi, but never succeeds. In Season 02, Jyou is usually busy with his studies to help the new Digidestined, but does come help sometimes. He has become an idol to Iori. In the movie Bokura no Wargame, a little affection for Mimi is uncovered....heh heh heh I saw that one coming from the time he yelled at her for not carrying the emergency bag!

Taichi "Tai" Yagami (Kamiya)
Age: 14 (looks about 16)
Grade: 8th
School: Odaiba Junior High
Japanese Seiyuu: Toshiko Fujita
American Seiyuu: Joshua Seth
Crest: Courage
Digimon: Botamon, Koromon, Agumon, Greymon, Metal Greymon, War Greymon, Omnimon
Image Song(s): Adventurer, Yuuki wo Tsubasa ni Shite, Atarashii Taiyou, Team

Riko-chan's Analysis: Taichi is the leader of the original digidestined children. His trademark is his extremely large hair and goggles. Taichi plays soccer on the same team as Sora and Koushirou. His little sister, Hikari, is also one of the Digidestined. The two of them recieved Koromon's Digiegg 4 years before Season 01 began. In the movie Bokura no Wargame, the romance that you all knew was going to happen starts to blossom. Taichi and Sora get into a fight over a hairclip.....and Taichi writes her an email apologizing....and signing it "Love, Taichi". Sora promply responds to him "Taichi no Baka!" (for those who don't know Japanese, "STUPID TAI!"). And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen....the blossoming romance between Taichi and Sora.
In Season 02, Taichi still plays soccer and frequently helps the new Digidestined out. Daisuke looks up to him as almost a god. In fact, Taichi gives Daisuke his goggles to "crown" the new leader of the digidestined...revealing his horribly unruly hair. He has matured greatly and isn't as reckless as he was back in Season 01.

Koushirou "Izzy" Izumi
Age: 13 (looks about 15 or 16)
Grade: 7th
School: Odaiba Junior High
Japanese Seiyuu: Umi Tenjin
American Seiyuu: (The infamous anime seiyuu) Mona Marshall
Crest: Knowledge
Digimon: Motimon, Tentomon, Kabuterimon, MegaKabuterimon
Image Song(s): Version Up!, Digital Scratch, Open Mind, Sekaijuu no Keshiki wo!

Riko-chan's Analysis: Koushirou is the most knowledgable of all the Digidestined Children. He spends much of his time on the computer and befriends Gennai, the mysterious old man who guides the children along. He also plays soccer on the same team as Taichi and Sora. He frequently gets all wrapped up in figuring out things that he forgets other people around him...even Tentomon. In fact, he even made Mimi cry because, god forbid, he ignored her! Ha ha ha. Although it doesn't seem that Koushirou has many emotions, he confessed his friendship love for Tentomon at the end of Season 01. Koushirou's emotions are also bottled up as a result of him finding out that his parents had died, leaving him with his aunt and uncle. He found out before they could tell him, and it caused some tears for poor little Koushirou! It has also been proven that he is really bad at telling jokes....please, if you need a comedian, do not hire Izzy.
In the movie, Koushirou first discovers Diablomon in the computer systems. He and Taichi have little disputes much like in "My Sister's Keeper" during Season 01. Koushirou also has a problem with an overload of liquids.....um.....maybe not all geniuses are perfect.
In Season 02, Koushirou grows a few million feet and is REALLY tall. He sticks around and helps the new Digidestined in their mission. Unfortunately, he is not called on as much as Taichi or, as he claims, Yamato.....which makes him quite upset....but really, Izzy, you're on the show more than Matt. So don't complain!!!

Sora Takenouchi
Age: 14 (looks about 16)
Grade: 8th
School: Odaiba Junior High
Japanese Seiyuu: Yuuko Mizutani
American Seiyuu: Colleen G. Shaugnnessy
Crest: Love
Digimon: Pyocomon, Piyomon, Birdramon, Garudamon
Image Song(s): Straight From the Heart, Ashita wa Motto, Shiny Days, Futari de Habatakeba

Riko-chan's Analysis: Sora is the voice of reason for the Digidestined. She is very mature for her age, and is also a tomboy. She and Taichi are very good friends and play on the same soccer team with Koushirou. Sora at first doesn't accept her crest of love, but truly deserves it because of her love for her friends. She and her mother have disputes on her future. Sora wants to continue with soccer while her mother wants her to study flower arrangement. It seems to me that Sora's family is very traditional Japanese. Her mother is the only one in the whole show who actually looks Japanese and she practices flower arranging which is an ancient art. The greatest mystery of Sora is her helmet.....cloth or not? There are various acccounts of her crushing it up like a simple piece of cloth....yet Jyou was able to pound on it while chanting Buddhist chants to get rid of Bakemon....What is Sora's helmet made of? The world may never know.
In the movie, that budding romance between her and Taichi finally starts up. A silly dispute over a hairclip causes Taichi to write an apologetic email, signing it "Love, Taichi." Throughout the movie, anything that reminds her of Taichi recieves a prompt remark of "Taichi no baka!" (Stupid Tai!") And so, the romance begins....
Sora in Season 02 is quite busy with her playing a lot of tennis, but she still pops in every once in awhile.
