Exmo.
PERMITIDA!
Dear Secretary General of the United Nations,
In the refugee camps of West Timor there are still approximately 120,000 East Timorese who may soon be forced to adopt the Indonesian citizenship simply because they were not permitted the proper conditions to allow a safe return to their homeland. The Indonesian authorities had imposed a deadline - March 31st, 2000 - for these East Timorese to choose between returning to East Timor or staying in West Timor to choose the Indonesian nationality. Nevertheless, this ''choice'' is being imposed by intimidation, violence and misinformation campaigns that the militia and the TNI continue to carry on throughout these refugee camps with total impunity.
THIS SITUATION CANNOT BE ALLOWED!
