"The Derren Brown Pilgrimage "
Original concept Dale Kingston age 12
11am - Plan to arrive at this time at Bristol Temple Meads station. DB doesn't drive or have a car so in the days before he was driven around everywhere he was often a train traveller. If you are fortunate, you may have a seat on a train that has once been occupied by the great one's derriere.

11.10am - Take a stroll over the road to the Byzantium restaurant
(A) at 2 Portwall Lane. This is where DB was the resident magic person on Saturdays until he got his break on Channel 4. Don't try to go in though as it isnt open. Just touch the door and think about how you are touching the same door that the bearded one has touched.

11.20am Now walk back towards Queens Square where you will find the Arnolifini
(B), this is a very poncy art gallery/ cinema where Derren goes mainly to watch films. After soaking up the atmosphere walk towards the centre then up College Green. Here you will pass the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel (C) (formerly The Swallow) whish Derren has listed as one of his favourite bars. It is then suggested you catch the number 8 bus to Clifton as Park Street is very steep and we dont want to be worn out for the next part of the pilgrimage.

12pm Step from the bus on Queen Street for The Anson rooms
(D), which are very ugly buildings but are where DB in his student days would occasionally go to socialise. Go into the student union shop and buy some nice sandwiches as we are now going to Clifton, which is a bit posh, and this is one of the cheapest places you are going to get lunch.

12.30pm Next take a stroll through Victoria Square
(E) and the park, you are now in Clifton Village where Derren has spent much time residing.  You should park your bottom on the grass and eat your sandwiches now. Next walk to Boyces Arcade (F) where you can look in the windows of the restaurants and picture a contemplative mindreader brunching alone whilst enjoying the fine food and wine.

1.15pm Now walk across the zebra crossing on Regent Street to Princess Victoria Street where you can take time to look around the shops in Clifton Village
(G). The antiques and secondhand shops are where DB purchased much of the artefacts that he used to decorate his home. A particular favourite of Derrens is the Oxfam secondhand Bookshop.

2.30pm You can now either walk towards Cotham ,walking past the old ABC cinema on Whiteladies Road and then towards St Matthews Church area where Derren previously lived or get a taxi back to the station and head back home. On the train you can mull over the day and smile happily to yourself that you are now that little bit closer to our hero.
