01 - 03 December 2000 (Friday through Sunday)
I had a date Friday! Very exciting for me, as I haven't had an official date in quite sometime. And even more exciting is that she COOKS! Nothing makes me happier than eating, and if someone can cook, my heart is their's. For dinner she made me curry chicken and potatoes over rice with artichoke hearts and special sauce. Then for brunch the next morning, she made me potatoes, zucchini, scrambled eggs and bacon. I was in heaven.
I meant to go out Saturday night, but I just couldn't do it. I made the mistake of going down for a quick nap at Diane's, but my nap turned into sleep and there was no way I could force myself to be lively and go out. 2 nights of bad sleep wreaked havoc on me. So I dropped Diane off at Cellspace, and headed home.
I sort of wish that I had gone out Saturday night though. Diane said that we would have a blast making fun of people (one of our favorite pastimes), because that night was uber-hippie. Plus, they had visuals of her when she used to go-go dance and I would have loved to seen those.
On Sunday I met Sully at the gym and then we attempted Christmas shopping. Instead, we wound up self-shopping which always seems to happen. We went into Crossroads, and I bought a pair of Daryl K pants and he bought an A/X shirt. Then we went into this vintage shop (Verunica) and ran into my friend Shawn there. Shawn is friends with girls who work there, so we all hung out and chatted for awhile.
I left for the east bay around 3:30, to meet up with Andrea who just moved into a new place. She was supposed to take me out to a belated birthday dinner, but instead she said she wanted to go to Long Haul for a vegan dinner. I've had vegan food before and it does not make me sit up and go "YUM! Vegan food!" But being the good friend, I agreed to go with Andrea and a couple friends to Long Haul for vegan food. I asked Andrea, "What is Long Haul?" and she replied "Oh, it's sort of a headquarters for anarchists." Oh. I see.
So we get there around 7:30, and it's a free dinner based upon donation. And surprisingly, I liked the food. Macaroni pasta with some sort of tomato/bean/zucchini sauce. But then they started having anarchist discussion groups. And I am so not an anarchist! I work in corporate america, I shop at the gap and I like fur. So I felt like such a poser there. And then I got called on in the discussion group! And just like in school, whenever I wasn't paying attention, I would get called on. So the moderator asked me if I had any ideas how to further anarchist thought in the Bay Area and I sort of stammered "No. no. no." and turned bright red. Luckily, I was left alone after that.
We had to be back at Andrea's at 9:15 because her friend "B" had to have her final shot for egg harvesting. You know how you see ads on the back of newspapers for egg donors? Well B is going to be one, and she has given herself a shot in the thigh everyday for the past 2 weeks, and last night was the piece de resistance - a shot in the fanny executed by Andrea. I took photos but B asked me not to post them. And Lily is completely terrified by needles - she ran out of them room whimpering.

I saw my first girlfriend at the gym last night! What happened was that I was watching my friend Natasha teach the cardio-kick boxing class, because I wanted to see if it would be a class I could do (I am very very un-coordinated). When I was watching the class, I noticed this girl whose body vaguely resembled my ex's. I then looked at the face, and then I almost passed out. It was her! I am actually still in shock because it means that a) the girl lives here (she is supposed to be living in Los Gatos) and b) she lives around the gym, or in the City at least and c) the probability of me running into her is pretty high now. It's weird how she completely smashed my heart into a million pieces when I was 20, but now she is barely even my type.
