| Portionte` Floes the poet, soulful expressionist, and vocalist, currently resides in the Pacific Northwest. Her poetry is refreshing, informative, intellectual, funny, militant, and the list goes on. There's at least one poem in the collection that reminds someone of a time, a cause, or a situation from their past or present. ______________________________________________________ In the words of the author I want to inspire others to keep climbing, keep trying, never stop loving, keep living, and above all keep the faith! I'd like to make women who are in troubled times aware of the power of strength, endurance, courage, and most importantly prayer! Through it all, I've learned that time is precious and not promised! I take nothing and no one in life for granted. I make lemonade whenever life gives me lemons. In addition to the gift of life, I was blessed with the ability to express my troubles, triumphs, and my heartfelt emotion through poetry. It is my intention to keep utilizing my blessing, showing gratitude, and sharing my blessings each time an opportunity presents itself! I've learned through my experiences that hard work and perseverance can pay off! I've also learned that the trials and tribulations in my life are lessons. All lessons are blessings. I'll learn from them as I grow! Holding onto to stress is not an option now. I get it out of me and onto the paper. Poetry may not be your outlet of choice, but we all have an outlet. The trick is to identify it and utilize it! Promote your own growth from within! Poetry has proven to be a good outlet for me. I've been intrigued by poetry for a large portion of my life.; My poetic influences are Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, and Beah Richards to name a few. In my adult life poetry has become my passion. I enjoy writing, reading, and performing poetry! I've completed and mailed the sequel to I'm Still Growing, Vol. 1! The sequel is titled,Growth & Development ______________________________________________________ Miz Floes performs weekly! The poet performs "Soulful Expression" (reading and singing her creative poetry while music played by a "live band"). She's currently working with The Carmel Latte Band! In addition to I'm Still Growing, Vol.1, & Growth & Development, Portionte` also a featured vocalist and soulful expressionist on an album, (soon to be debuted), The_Luvof_Music, (the CD contains a remake of Bill Withers hit from the 80's titled, "Use Me"). The album features local artists such as, Rcurtis Fantpayne, Dan Dean of Dean & Collier, and Darren Motamedy.
