John W. GARNER was born 4 Nov 1812 in Kentucky. He married Mary A. (?), who was born 2 Apr 1820 in Georgia and died 28 Jan 1881 in Winona, Montgomery Co., Mississippi. John W. GARNER died 24 Aug 1904 in Holmes County, Mississippi. He is possibly the son of Daniel GARNER born about 1777 in North Carolina and Selah (?) born in North Carolina and died in 1852 in Montgomery County, Mississippi. His obituary reads in part: "Died...in the 92nd year of his age...When a youth his parents moved to Mississippi and settled in Carroll County, where homes were few and far between. He went in and out among us longer than any other man who ever lived in our midst...He had a strong mind and a marked individuality..He ever took deep interest in public affairs, and for a number of years was a member of the board of supervisors of this county, in which capacity he brought the farmers under lasting obligations by his wise and effecient deeds...He was married three times, each wife preceding him to the grave. He left two sons and three daughters by his first wife to morn his death." John W. GARNER and Mary A. had the following children:
