2000 Rivendell Longlow for shortreach brakes

  • Custom geometry: 71 degree head/seat tubes; 2 degree upsloping toptube;
  • Coleman Green with cream headtube and windows trim;
  • All rack braze-ons; chain-hanger;
  • Wheels: Phil Wood 36 sp. hub/cassette hub, Bontrager Fairlane and Fairlane Asym rims, 14/15 db stainless spokes laced with brass nipples (built by Bhima Sheridan, spoke wrench has not needed to touch the wheels yet. Roly Poly wire bead 700x27s ;
  • Tange headset; Campagnolo Chorus  ('98 9 spd) brifters and dual-pivot sidepulls (note mod to rear fender to allow for larger tires in spite of not taking the good advice I was given in 1999 about having the frame built for standard reach brakes...
  • SKS (Esge) 45mm wide fenders;
  • Nitto Noodle bars (44cm), Baggins Hobo Bag;
  • Tressostar yellow cotton handlebar tape (last 2 rolls in my hoard, yellow no longer available) , over padded foam;
  • Velox greenhandlebar plugs  (only black available now);
  • Nitto Technomic stem- 50mm extension;
  • Nitto Frog (Jaguar) seatpost;
  • Honey brown Rivendell Special Brooks B17 Champion/chrome rails (chrome rails no longer available- copper and ti railed saddle available;
  • Baggins Banana Bag;
  • Blackburn FP-1M frame pump on the left seatstay, painted to almost match by me (would match exactly if I had sent it to Joe Bell)- handle wrapped in green Tressostar tape like handlebars;
  • TA Zephyr crank with 22/33/45 rings, Phil Wood BB, Speedplay Frog pedals....  IGNORE THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!, I MEAN THE PEDALS, er..;
  • Third Eye Chainwatcher (painted to almost match like the frame pump) to keep the chain off the BB shell when shifting from 33t to 22 t chainring (sure, I SHOULD be able to adjust the FD where the chain doesn't jump the cog, but I don't feel like risking the Joe Bell paint job!);
