CURRENT PROJECTS
ANNUAL HOME BEAUTIFUL TOUR
For over 35 years, the Altrusa Club of Portales has "showcased" some of the most beautiful homes in the county.  This event is held in September or October of each year, on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and tickets are $7.00 each.  Money generated from this long-time fund raiser are used for various community projects.  For more information, contact either Dianne Parker at 575-575-356-8234 (home) or 575-356-7000 (work) or e-mail her at:  [email protected] or Frankye King  at 575-356-4212 (home), or e-mail her at:  [email protected]
HOLIDAY HAPPENING
Begun in 1998, the annual Holiday Happening is a festive event of "decorated tables," with the proceeds benefitting local charities.  The project has grown from 24 tables the first year, to 67 tables at the present time.  Businesses and individuals can sponsor a table for $150.00 and decorate it themselves and receive 8 tickets, or the club will provide decorators for them and retain two tickets for the table host and co-host.  Tickets are $25.00 each to the general public, and the event is held on the first Saturday in December each year with the doors opening at 10:15 a.m. for viewing.  Other activities include a holiday fashion show, a delicious meal, entertainment and a silent auction.

Each year, the event is held in the Ballroom of the Campus Union Building at Eastern New Mexico University.  The event raises around $6000, which is given to local charities.  For more information, contact this year's chairman: Cindy Huffman, 575-273-4396 (home) or 575-760-6125 (cell) or e-mail her at:
