BOWLING

This is a page devoted to the Art of Bowling, because bowling is indeed, an art form.

In fact, I will outline Chris Austin's guide to bowling in this page, so that you too can become a master of this sacred art.

Step 1 to Chris Austin's Guide to Bowling as an Art Form - Socks

Socks are everything. Make sure you bring your cleanest pair while bowling, for multiple reasons. Clean socks do not smell, so your bowling comrades will not be offended every time they are near your feet. More importantly, however, is the fact that clean socks without holes in them will be a more comfortable fit for the shoe, and will thus protect you from what I like to call "Bowler's Foot" a somewhat uncomfortable rash that develops from bad socks and bowling shoes.

 * Step 2 to Chris Austin's Guide to Bowling as an Art Form - Ball

You should familiarize yourself early on in your bowling career with the types of measurements used in dealing with ball sizes and weights. This is key in selecting the right ball for you. A common way of measuring bowling balls weight is in pounds. They weigh anywhere between probably 2 lbs. to maybe 25 lbs. Then, you must choose the size finger holes you fit well into. This is usually measured with a size like small, large, x large, etc. labeled right on the ball near the weight. This is important. A good ball to start with is probably a large fingered, 12 lb. green ball similar to the one I use.
