In May, Katie flew to Cologne to meet up with Mom & Dad for the weekend.
Dad sings in a gospel choir called "United Voices of Praise", and they've built a relationship with a church in Cologne -- every other year, the Chapel Hill/Durham group travels to Cologne, then the next year the Cologne choir comes to NC.
The weekend was full of great music and wonderful people. The first evening in Cologne, they sang to a sold-out, standing-room-only crowd. The audience loved it! They stood up and clapped along and had almost as much fun as the choir did.
During the concert, we noticed a guy sitting in front of us who was literally
writing down the music as the choir was singing it, presumably so he
could teach it to his own choir later on. |
