A Brief Introduction to Temperature Climatology of Iran
Iran is located in mid latitude dry zone. Mean annual temperature of the country is about 18 degree Celsius. Mean annual temperature decreases from south to north and from east to west. Mean environmental lapse rate over the country is about 6.4 degree Celsius per kilometer. In cold season environmental lapse rate increases due to expansion of troposphere and during warm season it decreases.
