NORTHERN DAILY NEWS BECOMES POPULARFREEDOM TICKER TODAY.
Purchase by PopularFreedom Ticker effectively shuts down #2 newspaper in Workers Point.

Report by: Tasha Stevens
PFT News, Workers Point

Owner Madge Grosner had had enough of trying to make another national newspaper and therefore in April, had announced her intention to sell the other 'national' newspaper in the nation to the highest bidder.  Apparently she did not have to wait too long as the owners of the PopularFreedom Ticker convinced her to sell to them, effectively making the PopularFreedom Ticker the only national newspaper in the nation now.

Meanwhile in Workers Point, staff of the Northern Daily News were shocked to learn that they had rather instantaneously switched employers and were now working for the 'enemy'.

'It's a bit of a shock', noted one editorialist who wished to remain anonymous.  'You're told that Locke Harbour is the enemy, and that the [PopularFreedom] Ticker is bad and then you wake up one morning and come to work to find out you now work for the 'enemy' so I think everyone here is a bit shocked by the entire ordeal.'

The head office of the PopularFreedom Ticker has noted that there should be no job losses with the new deal as most in Workers Point will help to give the Ticker a northern flair.  Some in the Northern Daily News (NDN) offices though doubted that.  'I already have my resume out cause sooner or later there are gonna be job cuts and definitely those in Locke Harbour will get preference over me', noted one worker at the NDN offices.

Most on the streets of the second largest city in the north of the nation however seemed to be unconcerned with the buyout of the Northern Daily News.  As one commented, 'most read The Workers News paper anyhow'.

Owner Madge Grosner seems to have had enough with the Northern Daily News.
