The governing body of football within the nation issued a statement today
effectively pulling the nation of PopularFreedom out of the current
football World Cup and all future football World Cup tournaments for the
foreseeable future. Though some observers felt the move was a little
excessive in light of the current state of affairs in World Cup 26, it is
somewhat understandable why the move was made.
In two World Cup games the refereeing has been absolutely atrocious including the match today which was lost by the Locke Harbour squad representing the nation 1-0. Furthermore the governing body of football within the nation has leveled verbal spars at the World Cup body in light of the current state of affairs at World Cup 26. Both sides were unavailable for comment however players of the Locke Harbour team, representing the nation, were for the most part seemingly fed up with the atrocious calls on their team, especially leveled against star striker Evan Timulburger both today and in an earlier match in World Cup 26. Definitely fall out from this unprecedented event will be swift and condemnation is expected to be vicious however as noted by the nation's government body, 'until a fairer system can be created we have no interest in participating further in such a biased event'. |
PopularFreedom, at least for the present time, will no longer be playing for this trophy. |
