The Magna Carta Extreme Eagles, before a capacity crowd at Crusader Coliseum were able to stave off a touch Red Dragons team to win in overtime 34-28.

Led by the quarterback skills of Jeffrey John, the Eagles ran and passed their way to victory in a highly entertaining match.  Tim Wilson meanwhile was able to amass 89 yards on the ground which not great helped to keep the Dragon defense honest to allow John to prove his ability to lead a successful aerial attack.

Arnot Keele meanwhile led the team on defense in sacks, while Yohan Cambridge, who normally plays on the offense as a tight end, started as a cornerback on defense today, in light of the absence of Walter Warden, and was responsible for 3.5 tackles in the game.

'It was an all around good effort by our boys after 2 months off', noted coach Peter Voken who no doubt would have been not as happy had Iston not pulled out a super run at the end in overtime.

Paul Forruthers defensive coordinator however was less than happy with the team's overall performance on defense in light of them giving up 28 points and has promised to work harder to ensure the team is ready for their next game on Monday, January 30, 2006 at home against the Vlavian Hippikon.  In light of the Hippikon's crushing of the Gulls today, Mr. Forruthers will not doubt have his work cut out for him.

Sam Iston had 12 points against the Vassfforcia Dohendor Red Dragons in today's match.
