LOCKE HARBOUR DRAGONS PUMPED ABOUT IRL FINALS.

Report by: Stephen O’Malley
PFT News, INTERNATIONAL REPORT

The Dragons are back!  Keith Wright has taken a storied franchise and rebuilt it in under a year from the failure it encountered during the 2005 PRL season.  Now the Dragons are one step away from regaining glory by winning the IRL Finals.

'We ended off the PRL season strong last year as noted in our game verses Bennett', remarked coach Wright in an interview last night.  The key now is to focus on our skills and get our backs ready.

Indeed with two key injuries to an area which the Dragons have never truly been notable for, the Dragons may be in a precarious position entering the final against the Shearwaters Giants.

'These guys are no slouches, they are strong so we will have our work cut out for us, but if we play as a team we should be able to bash through them', noted starting Prop Greg Hutson.

Fans from Locke Harbour were overly optimistic prior to the final as the majority felt their team would smoke the Giants.  'No one beats the Dragons', noted one fiery fan after the Mexicona match.  When noted to the fan that the Dragons failed to make the playoffs in the PRL the fan became extremely irate however before cursing profusely about (former head coach Andrew Martin).  Then a number of Locke Harbour fans joined the interview chanting, 'eight, eight, eight,...', clearly in reference to the amount of championships they own in the twenty two year history of the PopularFreedom Rugby League (PRL).  Whatever the case this will definitely be an excellent game of rugby to watch for all who love great sports.

Feisty at times, the Dragons have definitely been entertaining to watch at the International Rugby League this year.
