CAMELOT SENTRY FOLD, LOCKE HARBOUR SOUTH GETS FRANCHISE INSTEAD.

Locke Harbour mayors get into another war of words over second Locke Harbour franchise.

PFT News, Locke Harbour

The debate begins again.  In 1983 when Locke Harbour along with the remaining teams were assembled to begin the first season of rugby play in the spring of 1984, the biggest debate focused on where the games would be played in Locke Harbour.  In the southern region of the massive metropolis you had the main downtown core, and a newly built Locke Harbour Stadium.  In the north however you had the aptly named Champions Heaven Stadium.  Located closer to the airport and in a more centralized location the mayors of the supercity through much debate choose the northern facility over the southern one.

Fast forward to March of this year.  The PopularFreedom Rugby League (PRL) finally announces expansion to Magna Carta, however they also announce an expansion franchise to an unknown group in the 'city' of Camelot.  Most sports analysts look upon the granting of the Camelot team as a political ploy influenced by the Prime Minister himself.

The Camelot franchise needed to pay the franchise fee to the league by this morning at 12:01am.  The deadline came and went, with the realization that the franchise could not meet the financial deadline on time.  At 11am a news conference in Camelot held by the franchise, announced that the team would no longer pursue forming a franchise in the PRL.  Now begins the confusion.

At 11:15 am in Locke Harbour South City Hall a 'special' news conference held by the mayor of the city announced that Locke Harbour South had arranged to purchase the team and had already paid the PRL the needed expansion fee.

At this point we need to note to those not familiar with Locke Harbour geography, that the city of Locke Harbour is in fact nine cities joined together into a massive city.  This massive city is what is collective known as Locke Harbour, and not Locke Harbour City State as some mistakenly refer to it as.  Locke Harbour North and Locke Harbour South are two elements of this supercity which have the biggest populations, biggest commercial districts and constantly bicker with one another about who gets what when it is announced that the city of Locke Harbour will get something.

''if the Dragons play as poorly as they did this season then at least we still have someone to cheer for"

Mayor James Hewitt, of Locke Harbour North, was found minutes after the Locke Harbour South announcement raving to reporters that any additional team in Locke Harbour South was going to adversely affect, 'the city's beloved Locke Harbour Dragons'.

Calls to both the Locke Harbour supercity office of Mayor Birt Hobart, as well as the Board of Directors of the PRL went unanswered so we turned to the streets of Locke Harbour to ask what citizens thought of two teams in the same city.  Most residents seemed happy with the idea, as one fan noted, 'if the Dragons play as poorly as they did this season then at least we still have someone to cheer for'.

The PRL recently awarded Camelot Sentry franchise are now the Locke Harbour Blues.
