It will be the Peace Warriors verses the Lenita Legion in the PRL final this coming Sunday in Lenita. 'We got the final we wanted', noted an exuberant David Jeffs, coach of the Warriors. 'We lost to these guys a week ago so we want our revenge for them ruining our perfect season'. The Invaders meanwhile were extremely dejected after the game. 'We played good enough to beat them for 87 minutes', noted coach Bob Andorf. They kept pushing us hard though and broke through just before the end. ________________________________________ 'This is not 91, this is 2005, and we are taking it this year!' -a crazed Warrior fan at Invasion Stadium in Athens yesterday. ________________________________________ Meanwhile in Lenita, the hometown Legion dominated the Pirates the entire game though only winning by ten points. 'We came out strong with 17 points in the first 13 minutes then hung on for the win', a delighted John Kessteller, coach of the Legion, noted after the game. Asked whether he took the Pirates lightly coach Kessteller replied, 'no way. The Pirates were the only team to beat us this year, so we knew what they were capable of. We knew they would take us lightly cause of that too so we expected them to be sloppy in their end and we pounced on that'. Lenita is hosting the final for the first time since 1999 and this is the first time the Legions have been in the final since 2000. This is the first time the Peace Warriors have been in the final in their history. |
