The Nationals took out the Grays Harbour Gulls in HFL action yesterday for their first win of the tournament. 'We finally got the offense rolling which was our big problem last week', noted coach Risto Machan. The Nationals defense still was impressive blitzing the Gulls quarterback causing numerous turnovers. ________________________________________ '...I think swarm would be a more suitable name for us...' -Nationals linebacker, Martin Trimmle. ________________________________________ It was the offense however that finally managed to get things together. Scoring on their first possession, and getting a field goal on their next. Quarterback Dieter Brock was on fire throwing touchdown after touchdown including one 50 yard bomb in the 2nd quarter to a sprinting Keith Taylor. 'All I was thinking was I better catch that thing', noted Taylor. That the defense shut the door also helped. 'I think swarm would be a more suitable name for us, for our team', noted nationals linebacker Martin Trimmle. They will need to play as well or better next week as they play the unbeaten Upper Biswald Mavericks. |
