INTERNATIONAL RUGBY QUARTERS SET.

Bad weather makes last day a sloppy one in Locke Harbour while Torquay gets eliminated by Northwest Prussia in final Pool B match.

Teams finished up round robin play yesterday with still a few surprises remaining.

The first game of interest in Pool A was the Vlavianos verses Westchase match.  Westchase needed a big win in order to have a hope of stealing the final playoff spot from either Nastic or New Yavin.  In the end however Vlavianos was too strong, rumbling over the Beckstrom Rangers from Westchase to send them packing.

This loss by Westchase gave New Yavin and Nastic automatic tickets to the quarterfinals and they therefore showed their desire to play putting on a boring match in the driving rain which resulted in a 0-0 draw.

A few disgusted fans hurled drinks at both teams as they left the field at the end of the match, however with the pouring rain, coupled with tough security, the angry fans were quickly escorted out while the drinks failed to actually connect.  One officer at the scene joked, 'not sure why they were throwing drinks at the players, even if they did connect I doubt they [the players] would have felt much of anything with the monsoon that we are having today.'

Fans after the match scowled in disgust.  One angry fans noted that, 'I bought tickets to this match to watch 2 teams that have been beating up on other countries, what did I get, a bunch of backups playing cause they already got their quarterfinal berths.  What a bunch of crap, I wish it would snow so I could nail these smucks with something other than just drinks'.
