SACREDICITY MAYOR LIVID OVER CAMELOT CITY STATUS.

Prime Minister announces a railroad to Camelot too.

Report by: Garth Austin
PFT News, Camelot

Mayor Keith Zinniwell is livid, and to be honest he has a right to be.  At a population of 95,000 his town is closest to making the 100,000 'city' barrier.  Yet without much fanfare the prime minister noted that Camelot was now a city, though it still stands at a population of 91,000.

Then today another bombshell, a new railway was announced to be built towards Camelot from Uranium Falls, while the existing link between Uranium Falls and Viscount Bennett will be retrofitted.  The new extension, over 750 kilometres in length, will cut through the ranching fields in the south west, and part of the rainforest before linking to the Victory Union/Viscount Bennett line.

Today in Camelot it was already evident that this is not some brainstorming proposal but a project that has been planned well in advance.

Speaking to one worker at the railway work site, we learned that over the last 10 years our Prime Minister had a number of environmental assessments done between Viscount Bennett and Camelot in terms of running a high speed rail link between the two cities.  'This railway has been in the works for the last 10 plus years, just that because Mr. Bayda was head of the railway company until we decided to join all the cities together as one country, no one ever noticed it before now.'

In Viscount Bennett, our media outlet reported that workers there too were hard at work on the railway lines there.  A foreman there was able to give more information on the project.  'The Camelot to Uranium Falls line should be finished around the middle of June since they plan to work triple shifts so that they are able to get 9-10 kilometres done per day.  Remember that this part of the line will be built through the ranching plains so that the clearing process for the site will be rather simple and efficient.  The Uranium Falls to Viscount Bennett part will take much longer to retrofit but by then the international airport in Camelot will have been finished anyhow.'

In parliament the announcement did not really set off too much debate.  Civil party leader Jennie Ne, seemed pleased by the additional jobs for workers and came to the aid of the Prime Minister when the leader of the Economic party accused him of mismanaging funds.

It was the mayor of Sacredicity who had the most to complain about.  'Our city is larger than Camelot, is 370 kilometres from Locke Harbour, and yet is not recognized while the town is getting all the attention.  This is planned prejudice, he [Bayda] is starting to build a 750 kilometre railway, there is no way this was not planned in advance meaning he planned to ignore our city.  Everyone wondered why Viscount Bennett got a brand new rail station 2 years ago while they still use trains from the 19th century, now we know!'
