PRIME MINISTER PROCLAIMS CAMELOT A CITY.

Rather abrupt announcement catches even the Camelot mayor off guard.

Report by: James Collins
PFT News, Locke Harbour

The statement was made on the radio and posted on the government website, at 9pm in the evening yesterday.  A most unusual time for a statement from the Prime Minister.  It was almost as if it was an afterthought.  Yet, the radio address from the Prime Minister was made and heard by all who happened to be listening at that time.  There was no ceremony, not even an indication that this announcement was to be made, it just happened.

When the office of the mayor of Camelot was reached this morning, most in the office did not even know about the announcement, while the few that did were extremely surprised.  Even the mayor, when questioned by phone, was puzzled by though welcomed the Prime Minister's statement.

Representatives from the Statistical Research Department of the nation were even more blunt in their confusion about the announcement.  One individual noted that, 'unless the Prime Minister knows something that we don't, the population of Camelot is currently under 100,000 and has been stagnate for the last few years.'

Stephen Hicks, a political science professor noted that, 'Bayda is known for having plans without conveying them to anyone.  With Uranium Falls all of a sudden getting national coverage do not be surprised if this is in the future tied to the success of that town.'

Camelot, for those unfamiliar with it, is located in the southwest corner of the country, 1000 kilometres south of Victory Union.  Don't expect to visit there anytime soon however.  There are no roads or rail lines that lead into the 'city'.  Currently one can only reach the town by boat, though an international airport is scheduled to be completed by July of this year.
