POPULARFREEDOM TO SEND NATIONAL GRIDIRON TEAM TO HEARTLAND TOURNAMENT.
Many sports figures question the logic and say our team is outmatched.
Report by: John Davis
| With no league in Heartland for a rugby
tournament, our country has decided to register for the regional
football (gridiron) championship. Many have questioned the
purpose of this since putting our national pride at stake in a sport
that is not our national pastime is questionable logic.
Most individuals responding to a poll by this paper noted that they thought we were headed to a regional rugby tournament. Coach Machan seems unperturbed by this lack of enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament. 'The country loves a winner, and our boys will be ready. They don't need a league here, we have the best coaching staff on the planet which will show when they bring home the regional championship. ________________________________________ '...our boys will be ready. Sports commentator Jim Wilson noted that with our rugby season ongoing, our best players will not be even trying out for the national football squad. 'Our prime minister has not even made an official statement about our entry in the tournament;' quipped another sports analyst. One of the players trying out for the team noted that he was just doing it for fun. When asked about our chances at the tournament he noted that, 'you have to start somewhere'. |
