Tell us about Murder by Death (i.e. influences and aspirations for the future)
We all listen to different music so I think that's why we come off as pretty eclectic.Between us we like everything from david bowie to iron maiden to the cure to danny elfman to bartok.We are just starting to do what we really want to, which is go on big support tours. We're really excited to go out with thursday this summer and there are some other tours in the works.We want to tour europe so much, and it looks like it might happen this fall.
How long has Murder by Death been together and what have you accomplished in that time?
We've been together for 2 1/2 years, but we were in school most of that time ( at college at indiana university.) We have been touring for about 9 months so that is a more accurate representation of how long we've been around. We have an album out on Eyeball records called "like the excorcist, but more breakdancing," a split EP with Volta Do Mar that just came out , and we are recording a new album called "who will survive and what will be left of them." It is a concept album with the backdrop of the devil bringing the apocolypse to a small town in Mexico. It's mostly waiting about waiting for it all to come down.
