Chapter 1

I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe I'm in England. I just can't believe it. I'm definitely going to be in big trouble when I get back. If I go back.

I should explain. My name is Isabel Carter. I'm your normal average sixteen-year-old with blue eyes and straight blond hair. There is nothing unusual about me, well, almost nothing. You see, I'm kind of obsessive. Actually, 'kind of' is an understatement. I'm crazy, psycho obsessive. That's why I'm here. I've just flown all the way from Portland, Oregon to London, England. I'm here to meet Daniel Radcliffe, my latest obsession.

Daniel Radcliffe is the cutest guy on earth, with his deep blue eyes, messy hair, and perfect grin, I'm sure I'm not the only girl who thinks so. There is no way I could go on living without him. So I saved my allowance for two years. Last month I figured I had enough, so I booked a flight, and without even thinking about it, I left. Now I'm here, sitting in an airport in London, and I'm not quite sure what to do next.

"You're not lost are you?" I'm shaken out of my daydreams. I look up and see a lady with a sympathetic look on her face.

"No!" I exclaim, searching my mind for a lie. "I'm just waiting for my mother to come back from the snack bar."

"Okay." She says, walking away. I sigh with relief and rush out of the terminal before anyone else can notice me. Why didn't I plan this out better? I have no idea where to start. I don't have any notion whatsoever where Dan could be. Then a thought came to mind. What if he wasn't here? What if he was in the states? What if I came here for nothing? After hyperventilating over this for a minute or so I managed to calm down.

"They are filming!" I exclaimed to myself under my breath. "They shoot the movie in England. So he'll be here somewhere."

Outside I see a bus parked behind a sign reading 'The Abroad Hotel'. That seemed to be as good a place as any to start. I got on the bus, paid the fee and settled into a seat way in the back. I watched the view out of the window. We passed so many famous landmarks. Buckingham Palace, that really big clock, and that river you read about in geography, I think it's called the Thames or something.

When we finally pulled up at the hotel I got worried. The place didn't exactly look affordable. Especially not for someone on such a limited budget as I was. I walked into the lobby, which was so bright and shiny that I hesitated to step on the marble floor. I slowly made my way up to the counter.

"Um, excuse me?" I said to get the guy's attention.

"Yes? How may I help you?" He asked, looking at me like I was a piece of dirt.

"I was just wondering how much it cost to stay here for a night." I swallowed nervously.

"I'm afraid it would be too much for you, little girl." He answered. "This hotel usually only serves members of the upper class."

I walked out of the hotel wondering what to do next. Before I gotten down all the steps someone tapped me on the shoulder. I jumped and whirled around to see who had tapped me. Standing right in front of me was Dan Radcliffe. I almost fainted right there onto the street. I tried to act like I had no idea who he was. I had read that most stars did not like to date fans, so I was determined to seem like I hardly knew him.

"Are you having some trouble finding a place to stay?" He asked politely.

I quickly searched my mind for a story that would be believable. "Um...well, yes, I am. I was supposed to meet my aunt here, but I just found out that she had a heart attack, and she didn't make it." I stopped and sniffed dramatically. Dan patted me on the shoulder.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"So anyway," I continued. "Now I'm stuck. I have no money and it'll be a week before my parents arrive."

"I'm really very sorry to hear about your aunt. I'm pretty sure you'd be welcome to stay with me for the week."

"Really?" I asked, even more shocked. "That would be really nice of you. Are you sure it would be okay with your family?"

Dan smiled. "I'm sure it would be all right. Wait right here while I go and drag my bodyguard away from his friends. By the way, what is your name?"

"Oh, right. I'm Isabel Carter, and you are?"

"Dan Radcliffe."

"Ah. That explains the bodyguard. You play Harry Potter, don't you?" I asked, keeping up the act of not knowing him too well.

"Yes, I do. Just wait a minute and I'll be right back." He ran back into the building.

I sighed and rolled my eyes towards heaven. "Thank you, God. Thank you."

Chapter 2

When Dan came back we got into a car that had appeared by the side of the road. The ride to his house was filled with an unnerving silence. After about five minutes the car stopped. We had arrived. I followed Dan up to the house. His mother rushed to greet us.

"So who is this pretty young lady?" She asked Dan.

"This is Isabel Carter." He said. "Isabel, this is my mom."

"Nice to meet you." I said, shaking her hand.

"So nice to meet you too. What brings you here?"

I immediatly lost my smile. Although in reality the change of attitude was due to nerves, it came across perfectly as being due to sadness. Dan jumped in and explained the whole situation while I hung my head.

"Oh poor dear." Mrs. Radcliffe exclaimed when Dan had finished explaining. "Well, you're certainly welcome here for as long as you need a place to stay."

I smiled up at her. "Thank you very much."

"I'll show you the guest bedroom." Dan said, taking my suitcase. He hauled it up the stairs, me following close behind.

"So what is it like being an actor?" I asked.

"It's great!" Dan said. "I really like it. It's a lot of work, but also so much fun."

"Are you filming anything at the moment?"

"No, not right now. Filming on the Goblet of Fire just wrapped, so we get a bit of time off."

"That's cool." I said, trailing off when Dan opened the door to what would be my room. The room was amazing. Fancy and stylish. Much better than my room at home.

"This room is amazing!" I said, awed.

Dan laughed. "Fit for a princess."

I blushed. "I guess I better call my mom." I lied.

"Sure." Dan said. "I'll be in my room if you need anything. It's the last door on the right."

Dan left and I went into my room and shut the door. I picked up the phone and dialed my friend Diana.

"You will never guess where I am right now!" I whispered into the phone when she answered.

"Where?" She answered. "Why are you whispering?"

"I'm whispering because I told Dan that I'd be calling my mother. I'm supposed to be experiencing a family crisis."

"Okay, that wasn't telling me anything! Where are you? Who is this Dan guy? Why are you supposed to be experiencing a family crisis?"

"I'd tell you, but you wouldn't believe me."

"I'll try."

"Well...okay. I'm in England. Dan is Dan Radcliffe, and I got here by telling him that my aunt had just died and I was going to be stranded in England without any family for a week."

"I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!" Diana screamed so loud that I had to hold the phone back.

"It's true. I can hardly believe it myself though."

"This is so amazing Isabel. I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back."

"Well, I was thinking that I might not come back."

"NOT COME BACK!" Diana was yelling again.

"Well, I was thinking that maybe I could get a part in the next Harry Potter and stay in England with Dan for the next year or so."

"Oh my god, girl. Get a grip. It is one thing to spend a week with Dan, but don't you think that a year is a bit much? Won't he find out that you lied and stuff?"

"I guess you're right there, but I'm just going to wait it out and see what happens."

"Okay, girl. I'll just have to let you be. Good luck with whatever."

"Thanks. Talk to you later." I hung up the phone and went down the hall to Dan's room. I knocked tentatively on the door.

"Come in." He said.

I opened the door slowly. Dan was sitting at his desk reading a script.

"Is that for the Order of the Phoenix?" I asked.

"Yeah. It's pretty long, but I can tell it's going to be very good."

"Are they still auditioning for it?"

"Yeah. Why? Are you interested?"

"I was just thinking that it might be a fun thing to do, and I'll get to stay in England longer if I get a part."

"So you like it here so far?"

"Yeah. Everyone seems really nice, and I've already met a really cute boy."

Dan looks up from his reading. "And who might that be?" A smile creeps across his face.

"It's you silly." I laughed.

"Oh, of course." Dan joked, laughing along with me. "How could I not know that?"

"Dinner's ready!" Dan's mom yelled from downstairs.

"Race you there." Dan said, running out the door.

"Not fair!" I yelled, chasing after him. "You got a head start!"

Chapter 3

The next morning Dan woke me up at 10:00. "What is it?" I asked groggily.

"You are such a sleepyhead!" Dan laughed. I rolled my eyes at him. "I just wanted to know if you wanted to go shopping with us."

"You're going shopping?" I asked. "I thought that boys hated shopping."

"Well I must admit I'm not thrilled with it, but my mother insists that I need new clothes."

I laughed. "Well, if you'll give me fifteen minutes, I'd love to come."

"Sure!" He agreed.

I hauled myself out of bed and hurriedly showered and dressed. I emerged from my room soon after, hoping that I had remembered to put on my favorite perfume. I looked over the stair railing and noticed Dan and his mom waiting by the door. I rushed down the stairs worried that I had been taking too long. On the last step I tripped over my untied shoelace and fell right onto Dan, knocking him over!

"There's no need to be in such a hurry!" Dan laughed as I picked myself up off of him.

"I'm so sorry." I stuttered, embarrassed. "You're not hurt are you?"

"No, I'm fine." He assured me. "I was just caught by surprise. I didn't expect angels to be falling from the sky anytime soon."

I blushed horribly. His mom game me a knowing smile.

"Well let's get going." I exclaimed, to break the uncomfortable silence.

The first store we stopped at was a huge department store. Dan and I headed for the guys department while his mother went off to look at handbags or something.

"What do you think of this?" I asked holding up a T-shirt that was the exact same blue as Dan's eyes.

Dan shrugged. "I don't really care much."

I frowned. "Well you have to like something. You have to have some sort of favorite style."

"Just jeans and T-shirts I suppose."

"Well, get this one. It brings out the wonderful color of your eyes."

"Oh really?" Dan asked, raising his eyebrows. "Wonderful?"

I laughed. "Yes, wonderful."

After grabbing a few more shirts and some jeans, we went off to find Mrs. Radcliffe. As we walked through the store side by side our hands brushed together. I fought the reflex reaction to pull my hand away. A second later Dan slid his hand into mine. I looked over at him and he smiled. I smiled back.

That night I called Diana again.

"YOU HELD HANDS?" She screamed after I told her about what had happened while we were out shopping.

"Yeah! Can you believe it?"

"You have to tell him the truth now. You know that right?"

"What are you talking about? I'm NOT telling him the truth. Especially not now."

"But it'll never go anywhere if you don't."

"It'll never go anywhere if I do either."

"You have to tell him. Maybe he'll not be so mad. Maybe he'll get over it quickly."

"I highly doubt that."

"So you're just going to leave after the week is up?"

I thought hard about that. Could I just leave? Should I? No, I couldn't. Not now. I had to stay. I would have to think up another plan.

"No. I'm not leaving." I told Diana. "I'm staying here."

"Won't he ask what's up?"

"I'll think of something."

"Oh girl. You're totally making a mess of everything. You know that right?"

"Just stay out of it Diana." I sighed. "I can do it."

"Well. Okay. I'll talk to you later. Bye."

"Bye." I hung up the phone and went to bed. I tried to sleep but all night a dark cloud of doubt hung over me. I just didn't know what to do.

Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning after only a few hours of sleep. I still had no idea how to fix the situation I had gotten myself into. I would just have to leave. I couldn't go on lying to Dan.

"I'm leaving tomorrow." I announced at breakfast. I looked at Dan to gauge his reaction. He looked a bit disappointed. "My parents decided not to come to England, so I'll be going back home to the US."

"But I thought you wanted to audition for Harry Potter! I thought you wanted to stay here for awhile!" Dan burst out.

"My parents sad no." I said. I didn't even have to try to put the sad tone in my voice. "I really wish I could stay, but I can't."

Dan sighed. "May I be excused?" He asked. His mom nodded, and he got up and left the table.

After I had finished eating I headed upstairs. I walked down the hall to his room, but then I hesitated. What if he didn't want to see me? What if he was mad at me? I thought it over, then realized that he couldn't be mad at me. He was most likely just mad that I had to leave. I hadn't done anything wrong (at least nothing that he knew about), so he couldn't be mad at me. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"What?" Dan yelled from inside.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Sure."

I opened the door, stepped in, and shut it behind me. Dan was sitting on the edge of his bed. "Why'd you leave the table?" I asked.

"Why do you have to leave?" He asked, not looking up.

I sat down next to him. "I really don't want to." I said. "But my parent say I have to, and it's not like I can negotiate with my parents."

"Couldn't you try?"

I sighed. Leaving was going to be harder than I thought. I shook my head. "I tried already." I lied. "They want me home with them."

Dan grasped my hand. "Could you try once more?" He asked, looking into my eyes. "For me?"

I looked away, but then glanced back. His eyes were sad and pleading for me to say yes.

"Okay." I nodded. "I'll try one more time. For you."

Dan's eyes brightened. "Thanks!" He exclaimed. He leaned over and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. I smiled and blushed.

"I'll go call my mom and start begging." I said. I left the room quickly. Back in my own room I collapsed on the bed. Things were not going well. I picked up the phone meaning to call Diana, but instead, on an impulse, I dialed my mom.

"Hello?" She answered. She sounded very tired.

"It's me mom." I said, quietly.

"Oh my god. Honey! Are you all right? Where have you been? I've been so worried!" She was rattling off the questions so fast I didn't even have time to think of the answers.

"I'm okay, mom." I started. "I'm sorry for making you worry."

Mom quickly shed the worried mother tone and got down to business. "How could you run away like that? Don't you know we've go the cops out looking for you? Everyone expected the worst. Didn't you even think of anything before you left?"

I sat there listening to my mom go on and on and on about everything. When she finally paused to take a breath, I butted in. "I said I was sorry. I'll be back home tomorrow. I'll talk to you when I get back." Then I hung up on her. I hung up on my mother.

Chapter 5

A while later Dan knocked on the door. "Come in." I shouted.

"They said no, didn't they?" Dan said after he saw my downcast expression.

I nodded. "I guess today will be my last day here."

"Well then we've got to make it the best day ever!"

"And how?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. "How do we make this day the best."

Dan thought for a minute. "We can throw you a going away party! I'll invite everyone I know and we'll have a huge party!"

"Really?" I asked.

Dan nodded. "I'll have to clear it with my mum, but I'm sure she'll say yes."

"That would be so cool!" I exclaimed. I jumped up and gave him a big hug. "Thanks!"

"I'm going to go ask and then I'll call everyone."

"Okay." I said. "I'll stay here and decide what to wear."

Dan rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He laughed. "I'll come back after I invite everyone. Then we can go buy the stuff for the party."

I nodded, then Dan turned around and left.

About a half hour later, after I had tried on every item of clothing that I had brought along with me, I had finally chosen an outfit. A red miniskirt with a black sleeveless turtleneck, black tights, and red boots. I laid it out onto the bed so that it wouldn't get wrinkled, then headed down the hall to see what was taking Dan so long. Just as I was about to knock, he opened the door scaring me half to death.

"Oh my gosh!" I shrieked.

Dan jumped. "Sorry about that."

"It's okay," I sighed, catching my breath. "I just came to see if you were done inviting people yet."

"Yeah, I'm done." He said. "Everyone except Rupert can come."

"Why can't he come?"

"He's got a date."

"Oh really! Who's the lucky girl?"

"I don't know. He was being really vague about it. All he said was that some girl was coming over to his house today." Dan paused and gave me a questioning look. "Why do you want to know anyway?"

"Just curious." I shrugged. "Let's go buy the stuff now!"

"Mum gave me a bunch of money for party supplies. This'll be the best party you've ever had!"

We went out and bough chips, dip, tons of soda, and a lot of purple and pink decorations. (My favorite colors.) When we returned we quickly got everything ready. Soon after, people started arriving.

I recognized a lot of the kids from the Harry Potter movies, but I tried to act like I really didn't know anyone. The party was a LOT of fun! There was a downside though. It made me even more guilty about all of my lies.

"That was really, really cool." I said to Dan after the party was over. We were sitting on the couch in the living room clearing the leftover party stuff off of the coffee table.

"I'm glad that you had fun." Dan replied looking up at me.

"I just wish that I didn't have to go." I sighed.

"I know."

"I'm really going to miss you."

Dan stopped crumpling the chip bag that he was getting ready to throw away and turned to face me. "I'm going to miss you too." He said.

I smiled, blushing, and Dan leaned in closer. My heart started racing. He was going to kiss me! I tilted my head and close my eyes as his lips met mine. It was the best, most surreal feeling in the world, but it only lasted a second or two.

Dan abruptly pulled away. "I'm sorry." He said. I looked at him, puzzled.

"What's worng?" I asked.

"I can't." He said.

"Why not?"

"You're leaving tomorrow." He sighed. "I don't want to get into anything. You'll just be gone tomorrow." He stoop up and left the room. I sat there for a few seconds, shocked, then I gathered up the rest of the mess and after throwing it away, headed up to my room. I then collapsed onto the bed in tears. Nothing was going right anymore.

Chapter 6

I cried myself to sleep that night, wondering how I could make everything right. I now totally regretted all of the stupid things that I had done, all of the lies I had told. Dan wasn't Daniel Radcliffe, the actor, anymore...he was Dan, my friend. It had all started with a stupid obsession, but now that I really knew him for who he was I really cared about him.

We didn't say a word to each other the next morning. I kept trying to catch his eye but he was avoiding me well. After breakfast we both headed upstairs. I had to get ready to leave for the airport. At the top of the stairs I stopped. "We need to talk." I said.

Dan turned around, but he still didn't look directly at me. "What?" He asked.

"Don't ignore me just because I'm leaving!" I said. "I know you don't want to get into anything romantic, but you can still be my friend! After I leave we can still write to each other, we can still talk on the phone every once in awhile."

"I know that." Dan whispered, finally looking up at me. "It's just that I want to be more than friends. It wouldn't be an option, I know, but I really don't want to have to be just friends."

"But being 'just friends' is better than not speaking at all, right? I don't know what I'd do if we couldn't at least be friends."

"Okay." Dan mumbled. "I guess you're right."

"Yes, of course I'm right. Now how about this, let's just forget that that kiss and all that stuff never happened."

Dan raised his eyebrows. "But it did."

"But let's just forget about it and be friends. We can't let the fact that we can't be more than that get in the way."

"Yeah. You're right." Dan said, cheering up a bit. "Now you'd better go get ready. We have to leave for the airport in five minutes."

This realization brought both of us down into a gloomy mood. We both turned our separate ways and headed to our own rooms.

Five minutes later Dan and I were in the backseat of the car, headed to the airport. It reminded me of when we first met. The same car, the same driver, the same bodyguard in the front passenger seat. The only thing that was different was me and Dan. Now we were close friends, and then we had pretty much been strangers.

"I'm going to miss you." I said to Dan for about the fifth time since we had gotten into the car.

"I'm going to miss you too." Dan answered for about the fifth time since we had gotten into the car.

I wanted to reach over and take his hand so much, but after the whole thing about being just friends, I knew I couldn't.

"Just friends." Dan whispered. For a minute I wondered how he had known what I was thinking, but then I realized that he must have been thinking the same thing and wanting to hold my hand.

"Just friends." I whispered back. We sat out the rest of the car ride in silence.

After I had picked up my ticket and checked in my luggage, I stood with Dan in the waiting area. We didn't talk, we just stood there side by side, watching the planes takeoff and land silently. A crackling voice came over the intercom and announced that my flight was now boarding.

"I guess this is it." I said, turning towards him.

"I guess it is." He said, turning to face me. I took a step forward and wrapped my arms around him. He put his arms around me and gave me a quick squeeze. I reluctantly stepped away after a few seconds.

I took a deep breath and picked up my carry-on bag. "Goodbye." I whispered.

"Goodbye." He replied. I took a few backwards steps before I turned around. I headed for the gate, looking over my shoulder every other second. Dan was standing there with his hands shoved into his pockets. I blinked back the tears as I showed the lady my ticket. She nodded and waved me through. I looked back and saw a tear run down Dan's face.

As I walked down the corridor, I started crying and all of a sudden I knew. I knew I was in love with Dan. I couldn't leave him now. I stopped and stood there, the other passengers flowing around me. After a few seconds of contemplating this newly realized fact I quickly turned and ran back to the waiting area. I bumped into people and almost knocked over a little kid, but I didn't notice. I burst out into the terminal seconds later, Dan was still standing right where I had left him. I ran to him and flung my arms around him. "I love you." I whispered into his ear as he held me tightly. I pulled back slightly and he looked at me for a second.

"I love you too." He said after a short silence. Then he kissed me. This time it wasn't a short, fleeting moment. It was a long and very sweet kiss. I didn't ever want to let go.

"I have something to confess." I said after the kiss was over. It was time to come clean and tell the truth about everything.

"What?" Dan asked, concerned. He took my hand and we walked over to sit on the bench by the windows.

"I don't want you to get mad." I said, worried.

"I won't, I promise. Just tell me what's up."

"Well, it's kind of hard to know where to start." I sighed. "I've been lying to you."

"Lying? How?" Dan let go of my hand.

I took a deep breath and launched into my speech. "My aunt didn't die, I don't even have an aunt in England. My parents didn't know that I was coming here, they probably wouldn't have even let me come for any reason at all. I ran away because I wanted to try to meet one of my favorite stars."

Dan just sat there after I had finished. He stared at me for what seemed like way too long. Then he shook his head. "Your favorite star? That was me, wasn't it?"

I nodded.

"You acted like you didn't know me! Why did you do that?" Dan's voice grew a little louder.

"I thought that you wouldn't like me if I was just a fan. I didn't think that you'd take the time to get to know me for me."

"I would've liked you if you were a fan. I would've liked you if you were a nice, honest person whether you were a fan or not. But you're obviously not a nice honest person, so I don't like you anymore." Dan got up and left quickly. I stared after him wondering what to do. I was stuck. I'd missed my flight and I didn't want to go back home anyway, but I couldn't go back to Dan's house either. I spent the night at the airport, telling all the nosy people who asked that my flight had been delayed.

Chapter 7

I woke up very uncomfortable and cramped from sleeping in the stiff airport chair. In my groggy state I didn't know where I was. Then it all came rushing back to me. Everything that had happened the day before ran through my head. I started crying. After I was all cried out I remembered what Dan had told me. He was going to start working on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix that morning! I would just have to find the studios and then manage to get in and find Dan. It didn't seem like such an easy task once I thought about it, but it was the only hope I had. I had to find Dan and talk to him. I had to let him know that there was way more between us now than just a fan's stupid obsession. I really liked him as himself, not just because he was Daniel Radcliffe, the boy who plays Harry Potter.

I left the airport terminal and shielded my eyes from the bright morning sun. After a few seconds my eyes adjusted and I was able to see again. Where to go...where to go? I had no idea. I felt just like I had when I first arrived in London. Unsure, worried, and out of place. I took a deep breath and walked up to the first person I saw. A motherly looking lady trailed by two toddlers.

"Excuse me?" I asked when I approached.

"Yes?" The lady answered distractedly, trying to keep an eye on both of the kids.

"I was wondering if you could tell me how to get to Leavesden Studios?"

"A tourist, are you? Want to see the place where those famous Harry Potter movies are made?"

I nodded. "I lost my map so I'm in serious need of direction."

The lady explained how to get to the set. It really wasn't too far.

"Don't get your hopes up." She said as she walked away, herding the children along in front of her. "Most likely all you'll get to see is a few gray walls!"

"Well, those will be a few gray walls I'll remember forever!" I said, joking along with her. "Thanks for your help!"

"No problem, good luck!"

I headed off, deciding to walk so that I could save the little bit of money I had left. In about fifteen minutes I reached the studio. Now the problem was how to get in.

"I'm here to see Daniel Radcliffe." I told the guard.

"Where's your pass?" He asked.

"Ummm, I don't have it. Sorry." I gave him a sweet smile and prayed that he'd let me through.

"Then you're not coming in here. Sorry."

I sighed and walked away. I leaned against the chain-link fence surrounding the studio. Maybe I'd be lucky and Dan or one of the other actors I had met would see me, recognize me, and be able to help me.

After about five minutes a car approached the gate. I glanced at it for a fleeting second, not really caring, but then took a second look when I noticed that it had seemed familiar. It was Dan's car! I took a deep breath and hoped whoever was in the car would notice me. They did. The car pulled up in front of me and Dan's mom stuck her head out of the backseat window.

"What are you doing still here?" She asked. "Dan said that you had left. He seemed pretty distraught about it too."

"Well, I didn't leave. I don't really want to go into the details though."

"Oh, you and Dan had an arugment, didn't you. Well I guess you two should sort it out, come on." She opened the car door and motioned for me to join her. I got in the car and we drove back through the gates.

In a few seconds we had reached the wardrobe trailer, where Dan was getting fitted for costumes. Dan's mother rapped on the door. "Are you decent honey? I brought a visitor!"

"Come on in." Dan said.

Mrs. Radcliffe headed into the trailer and I followed behind, my head down. "Now it seems to me that you guys need to work something out, so I'll leave you to it." She said. She nodded to the other people in the trailer and they all followed her out without the littlest protest.

"So what is it that you want? An autograph so that you can prove to your friends that you met your favorite celebrity?"

"No." I said quietly. "I just needed to let you know something."

"Well, go ahead. Let me know."

After a few stuttering false starts I managed to get out exactly what I wanted to say. "When I first got here and I first saw you, I will admit that I was just into you because of your fame. It's different now though. I really like you for you. I don't care whether you are a star or not. I love you, not some famous celebrity. You really have to see that. I'm sorry that I lied, but can't you forgive me? I was crazy then, but now all I want is to be with you and I'm really, really sorry that I did what I did."

Dan stood there for a few minutes taking in what I had said. Then he silently walked up to me and kissed my forehead softly. "You're forgiven." He said, wrapping his arms around me and holding me tightly.

I rested my head on his shoulder and returned the hug. "Thank you." I whispered, a huge smile spreading across my face.

I spent the rest of the day hanging out at the studios with Dan. I totally loved it there! All the people were so nice and there was so much to see and learn about. I got a tour of the studio while Dan finished up his costume fittings. Afterwards, Dan and I went for a walk around the set. He told me lots of cool stories about his time on set; playing practical jokes on the other cast members seemed to be his favorite thing to do during his free time. Even when Dan had things to do I wasn't bored. I got along realy well with all of the people who worked on set and I could always find someone who wasn't too busy to hang out. I didn't get to see many of the other cast members though. Only Dan and a few other actors were starting with some pre-filming work that day. Most of the actors wouldn't start until Thursday.

At 8:00 that evening Dan got off of work and we headed back to his house. When we walked in the door Dan's mother called me into the living room. Dan followed me, but his mother dismissed him, telling him that she needed to talk to me alone. Dan raised his eyebrows at his mother but she ignored it and shooed him out anyway.

"You had several phone messages." She said when Dan had left.

"From who?" I asked, wondering who would know the number to reach me.

"Your mother."

"My mother?" I gasped.

"Yes, seems like something is going on here. Something that isn't the right thing."

I sank down onto the couch.

"Your mother said something about you running away? That you're not supposed to be away from home at all? I talked to her for awhile, but I didn't give her any details, I figured that it really wasn't up to me to tell your mother anything. I'm not one to mess around in other people's business, but you know I can't allow this. You need to let your mother know where you are and what you're doing here."

"How did she get this number?"

"That's not the issue right now, Isabel."

"I know." I sighed. "I'm sorry that I lied to you and your family. It's a very long story, can't you just overlook this and forgive me?"

"I am willing to overlook this, since you haven't caused any trouble here and I've actually enjoyed having you here, but I'm sure that your mother won't overlook this. Neither will Dan most likely."

"Dan already knows."

"So that's what you two were arguing about... You've got it all cleared up now?"

"Yeah, everything's okay between us."

"Well everything is not okay between you and your mother. You need to give her a call right now and straighten everything out. I can't continue to let you stay here if it is against your parent's wishes."

"Okay." I whispered. I left the room blinking back tears. I ran upstairs and down the hall to Dan's room. I knocked loudly on the door and when Dan answered I finally let the tears flow. Dan put his arm around me and led me into his room. We sat on the bed and I cried onto his shoulder until I had calmed down a bit.

"What's wrong?" He asked when I had stopped crying.

"My mother called today."

Dan understood immediately. "So what are you going to do?"

"I have to call her. I'm just scared that she's going to force me to go home. Your mother said that she couldn't allow me to stay here if it wasn't okay with my mother."

"Wow." Dan whispered. "That can't happen. You can't go home."

"I know, but I don't know what to do!" I started crying again. Dan pulled me into a big hug. I cried until I was totally out of tears.

"We'll think of something." Dan said.

"We have to." I whispered. "We just have to."

"Call her now." Dan said, handing me the phone. "Just get it over with."

"But what if..."

"No 'what if's'." Dan interrupted. "We'll see what she says and then we'll worry, okay? There is a small chance that things might work out without our meddling, so let's just see what she says first."

I took the phone from him and dialed the number. I took a deep breath and then held it to my ear and listened to it ring on the other end. Dan took my hand. "Everything will be okay." He whispered into my other ear.

"Hello?" My mother's voice answered.

"Hey mom. It's me, Isabel."

"Oh honey! It's so good to hear from you again. I was really worried after you hung up on me the last time we talked, and then when you didn't show up today! I was practically ripping my hair out!"

"I'm sorry that I didn't come home. I was going to, but something came up."

"Something came up???" My mother said, a little bit of screech coming through in her voice.

"Yeah. Something came up." I paused not knowing what to say next. "How did you get this number?" I asked finally.

"Isabel, seriously. We have caller ID, remember?"

"Oh, right." I said, still wondering. "You have your number public?" I whispered to Dan, covering the mouthpiece.

Dan shrugged. "It's never caused us trouble yet." He whispered back. "We said we'd change it to a private number if it ever got to be a problem, but it never did."

I went back to my conversation with my mother. "I want to know where you are exactly, why you didn't come home, and what you're doing." She said.

"I want to stay." I said.

"Tell me what's up and then we can negotiate whether you can stay or not."

"I'm in England."

"England???" She started to get screechy again. "I knew it was far from the number, but ENGLAND??? What were you thinking?"

"I just wanted to meet someone."

"Oh my God, Isabel you've got to be kidding me. You went all the way to England just to meet him? Daniel Radcliffe?"

"Yeah, I did."

"But how in the world did you think that you'd manage to meet him? He's a celebrity! You can't just head to their houses and knock on the door to meet them! The world doesn't work like that. Now tell me where you are and how you're getting by without much money or anything. Don't you want to come home where you have a place to live and a secure life?"

"I'm at a friend's house. I've been staying here since I got here. I'm totally okay, trust me."

"A friend's house? I wasn't aware that you had a friend in England." She said, laying on the sarcasm.

"I do now. I want to stay here with him, and just please don't make me come home."

"Him? HIM?? You're staying with a GUY? Isabel Natalie Carter, what the hell are you thinking? You'd better get yourself on the next plane home TONIGHT."

"Mom, it's not what you think. It's not just any guy."

My mother got extremely quiet after I said that. "Do you mean?"

"Yes. I'm at Dan's house. That's where I've been staying."

"How...Isabel...I am just amazed."

"So can I stay?"

"I am still furious with you, but this little bit of new news has totally changed my perspective on the whole thing."

I gripped Dan's hand tighter and I smiled a nervous smile at him. Things were looking up.

"I would like to talk to Dan's mother. I am willing to let you stay as long as I can keep an eye on you through her. She needs to be totally willing to have you stay also."

"Oh my gosh! For real? Wow! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" I looked at Dan and he had a huge grin on his face, mirroring my own.

"Hold on." I told my mother. "I'm going to bring the phone to Mrs. Radcliffe now."

"Okay." My mother answered.

"I'll be right back." I said to Dan before rushing downstairs to give the phone to his mother. She took the phone from me with a questioning look and I just motioned for her to take the call. Then I turned and rushed back upstairs.

"I'll be staying most likely!" I screamed when I burst back into Dan's room. "I can stay, I can stay!" I jumped up and down a few times before flopping back down onto Dan's bed. I gave him a big hug and then a kiss. He smiled at me and without saying anything kissed me again. After kissing for a few more seconds Dan pulled away.

"I'm so glad that you can stay." He said. "Everything's finally working out now."

"I know!" I exclaimed. "It's so perfect." I kissed him again and this time we kept on for quite awhile.

Chapter 8

The whole next week went very well for Dan and I. On Wednesday I hung out with Dan on set again, on Thursday I went on a sight-seeing trip that Dan had set up for me. Friday I stayed home because I wasn't feeling too well, but Saturday and Sunday were both the same as Wednesday. I honestly didn't care that Dan had to work so much. I had fun on set and I loved the whole atmosphere of the place.

Dan and I arrived on set at 7:00 Monday morning just in time to witness a very loud argument between Emma and Rupert.

"You are so pitiful!" Emma was yelling.

"How am I pitiful? You're the one chasing a guy who could care less about you!"

"Well at least the guy I'm chasing is right here and not halfway across the country! I'm not the one moping around because the girl I met a week ago isn't by my side at the moment."

"You're just jealous because I like her better than I like you."

Emma hd no comeback for Rupert's last remark. She turned and stalked off to her trailer.

"What was that about?" I whispered to Dan as we approached Rupert, who was still standing there with his arms crossed and an angry look on his face.

"Rupert's new girlfriend."

"His new girlfriend? How come I haven't heard about her?"

"She was here on the two days that you weren't. It's the girl who was coming over to his house the day of the party. I'm surprised that you haven't heard Rupert going on and on about her."

I shook my head. "So Emma's jealous of this new girlfriend?"

"Yeah. Emma's been chasing Rupert ever since we started making these movies and no matter how much Rupert turns her down she won't give up."

"Wow." I whispered before shutting my mouth because we had reached Rupert.

"So what are you arguing over now?" Dan asked, pretending to have no clue.

"Kylie." Rupert answered. "I'm going to go call her now, I haven't talked to her since five this morning."

Dan rolled his eyes, looking towards me so that Rupert wouldn't see him. I stifled a laugh.

Okay, I'll see you later then." Dan said.

Dan and I walked on towards his trailer, and I continued to ask questions about Rupert's new relationship.

"So her name is Kylie?"

"Yeah, Kylie Lewis."

"Sounds familiar." I searched my mind for where I had heard the name before.

"She's a singer." Dan said.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, remembering. "I saw her on TV yesterday morning. She did an interview. I remember now that she did say she had been vacationing in England!"

"Yeah, Rupert's all bummed that she's got work in the US right now. She won't be back for a week. I'm totally bummed too, because I don't think I can put up with Rupert acting like this for a whole week!"

"You'll be all right!" I laughed, playfully shoving him.

"Hey!" He said, shoving me back. I shoved again even harder, causing him to stumble. Then I ran before he regained his balance.

"Come back here!" He yelled.

"No, you come here!" I yelled back, turning around for just a second. Then I raced on to his trailer. I reached the door way ahead of him and ran inside. I locked the door behind me and waited for Dan to reach it. In a few seconds the doorknob rattled.

"Let me in!" Dan said, his voice muffled by the door.

"Say please!"

Dan was silent for a minute. Then, "Please."

I opened the door and let him in. "Payback." He said. He chased me through the trailer, catching me when I reached the back. "Dead end!" He said.

"Okay, you've got me." I giggled.

"Yes I do." He said, grabbing me around the waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him once, then again. It quickly turned into a makeout session that went on until someone started banging on the door of the trailer. We broke apart and Dan went to go see who it was.

"You're late." I heard someone tell Dan.

I walked through the trailer back to the front. Rupert was standing in the doorway talking to Dan. I stood back so it wouldn't be like I was barging into their conversation.

"You were supposed to be in wardrobe a half hour ago." Rupert was saying.

"God, I'm sorry. I was just...busy."

Rupert rolled his eyes. "Busy huh?" He laughed. "Well come on. Everyone's waiting for you. You are the star of this production!"

"I'm going to stay here for awhile." I told Dan. "I want to call some of my friends. I haven't talked to them in a long time."

Dan nodded. "I'll see you later then." He came over and gave me a few kisses before following Rupert out.

I called Diana first.

"Hello?" She answered after it had rung four times and I was about to hang up.

"Hey girl! Long time no talk!"

"Isabel! What's up? Why haven't you called?"

"Busy."

"Busy?"

"Yeah, sorry, I just really haven't thought about anything but what's been going on here."

"It's okay, but you totally need to update me now! I heard from your mom that you're staying?"

"Yeah, I am. Everything's been worked out now. I told you that it would all work, but did you listen?"

"I'm so happy for you...but I do miss you. My best friend is gone!"

"I'm not gone! I'm just out of town."

"For how long?"

"I don't know. I haven't actually thought about that."

"You have to come home sometime sooner or later."

"Well hopefully later."

"Don't you miss us?"

"Of course I miss you all, but I'm in love."

"Awww...you're in love... Isn't it kind of soon for that though?"

"Love doesn't have a time limit! It happens when it happens!"

"So I'm guessing you've done more than hold hands now?"

"Well of course."

"How far have you gone?"

"Just a lot of kissing and some touching."

"Okay girl, as long as you don't give it all away!"

"No, not that yet!"

"Yet? Have you thought about it?"

"Well, maybe, sometime way in the future though."

"Okay, cool. I'll stop being nosy now."

"You're my best friend!" I laughed. "You aren't being nosy, you're allowed to ask!"

"So have you met any of the other cast members yet?"

"Yeah, Dan's filming now. I've been on set with him almost every day."

"You didn't go today?"

"Yeah, I did. I'm in his trailer."

"Oh. So tell me, is Rupert Grint as cute in person as he is on screen?"

"Yeah." I giggled. "But don't get your hopes up, he's got a girlfriend."

"Really? Who?"

"I probably shouldn't tell you. I don't know whether I'm allowed or not."

"Oh, okay. I guess when you're around famous people you have to be careful about rumors and tabloids and stuff. It's okay that you can't tell me."

"Yeah, sorry." There was silence for a minute. "I'd better go now." I said. "I want to call some other people. I haven't even talked to anyone but you since I left."

"Okay, you'll call me later, right?"

"Yeah, I'll try to call you sometime soon!"

We both said bye and hung up the phone. Suddenly I didn't feel like calling anyone else. I didn't want everyone to be asking me all about the famous people and wanting phone numbers, autographs, screennames, etc... So I left the trailer and headed to the set that Dan was filming on that day. Dan was having a break while Rupert and Emma did some shots, so I got to talk to him for a bit.

"Did you have fun talking to your friends?" He asked.

"Yeah, but I only ended up talking to one of them, my best friend, Diana."

Dan noticed my slight sigh afterwards. "You miss her, don't you?"

"Yeah. I miss everyone at home." Dan put his arm around me. "But I do love it here with you!" I added.

"Well I have some good news."

"What?"

"I just found out that the New York premiere of Goblet Of Fire is in two weeks. We'll be going to that and if you want we can make a side trip to where you live."

"I live pretty far from NY though. Practically on the other side of the continent."

"We'll be traveling anyway, so why not?"

"Do you really mean it? Are you sure it'd be okay?"

"Yeah! It'd be fine!"

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" I flung my arms around him and gave him a big hug. "I can't wait to tell Diana!"

"Anything to make you happy." Dan said. Just then he was called back to work. He kissed me on the cheek and got up to do some more scenes.

Chapter 9

"Are you ready yet?" I yelled, heading down the hall towards Dan's room at 6:00 the next morning. Dan's door was open so I walked right in. "We're going to be late if you don't hurry up!" Then I noticed that Dan was on the phone. He put his finger to his lips and I quieted down, but I put my hands on my hips and started tapping my foot impatiently.

"Okay, thank you very much for the favor." Dan said to the person on the other line. "I'll see you later, bye." He hung up the phone and beckoned for me to join him on the bed.

"What's up?" I asked, crawling up beside him and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I have a big surprise for you. I managed to get you a little role in the movie!"

"Really? Wow! That's so cool! When are we filming it?"

"Today. You're going to be a Slytherin girl. You'll be in potions with us. You've even got a line."

"Oh my gosh! That's totally amazing! It's gonna be so cool!"

"Definitely! I'm really glad that you'll be able to do some scenework with me today."

"Me too." I got up, grabbed his hand, and pulled him up. "But now we have to go! We're already five minutes late!" I pointed at the clock and Dan raised his eyebrows.

"Since when are you the one who's all punctual? I seem to remember that we've been way more than five minutes late about seven or eight times because you 'weren't ready'."

"I overheard Chris giving you that lecture on punctuality yesterday and I felt bad, so now I'm trying to help you out."

"Aww, that's sweet." Dan said, giving me a kiss. He tried to keep the kiss going, but I pulled back.

"We have to go...NOW." I said with a tone of laughter in my voice.

Dan laughed and grabbed his jacket off the back of the desk chair. "Okay, you win." He said, rolling his eyes.

"I always do!" I laughed.

"Uh uh! I got you yesterday!" He said as we headed downstairs, my hand in his.

"Only cause I let you."

"Excuses excuses."

"I did!" I insisted.

"Of course you did."

As soon as we arrived at the studios a lady quickly ushered us both to the wardrobe trailer. "Can't these kids ever be on time?" She muttered under her breath.

I looked at Dan and raised my eyebrows. He shrugged.

The ladies in the wardrobe trailer both congratulated me on my acquisition of a role in the movie. "Are you excited?" They asked, while arranging my Slytherin robes to make them look perfect.

"Very." I replied. "It's going to be lots of fun!"

"Good luck!" They said to me, as the sent Dan and I off towards the make-up trailer.

"Why do we have to wear so much make-up?" I asked Dan while we were sitting in front of the mirrors in the make-up trailer. Two ladies were slathering tons of foundation all over both of our faces.

"Because movie stars are supposed to be flawless." Dan said.

"But I'm not a movie star. I'm just a little nobody who happens to have a one line role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

Dan laughed. "It's just part of the job."

Dan and I arrived on set fifteen minutes later ready to get to work. Chris handed me a few pages of the script. "Here's your line." He said, pointing it out. Then he went on to explain how the whole scene would work to everyone.

After a few run-throughs (which all went perfectly) it was time to start filming. On the first take I froze up and totally forgot my line and my cue. The cameras rolled on for an akward second or two hoping that I'd managed to recover from my temporary memory loss. Then Chris yelled "CUT!" and said to start the scene over again. I didn't freeze up the second time but we still had to do the scene about 50 times. There would always be something wrong with something, and then after we did get it perfect we had to get different camera angles!

"So how did you like it?" Dan asked me when we had wrapped filming on the scene. Dan still had more work to do, but he got an hour long break before having to start up again. We were in the catering tent on the lot getting ourselves some lunch.

"I absolutely loved it!" I gushed. "I wish I could do this all the time!"

"I'm glad you had fun. I was a bit worried that you might hate it."

"Well I definitely didn't hate it." I reassured, slipping my hand into his as we walked towards his trailer with our plates of food. Dan gave my hand a squeeze and I returned the gesture.

Over the next few days Isabel got to play the Slytherin girl in a few more scenes that were being shot. She loved the job so much and everyday she crossed her fingers hoping that there'd be more little scenes for her character to be in, even though she never got another line.

Chapter 10

"We're going on location tomorrow." Dan announced Tuesday morning, while we were in my room. We had both woken earlier than usual, so we had some time to just sit around before we had to go. I was putting a few magazines into a bag so that I'd have something to keep me occupied when Dan was busy working.

"On location?" I asked. "Where?"

"Somewhere up in Scotland, some fancy chapel or something. It'll be cool, I promise."

"As long as I'm with you it'll be cool." I said. I dropped the last magazine into the bag and walked over to Dan who was sitting on my bed. I bent over and kissed him on the lips, slowly pushing him back with my hands on his shoulders until he was lying down entirely. I stopped kissing for a moment, and climbed on top of him, my knees on either side of him.

"What's with you?" Dan asked, looking kind of surprised. "It's unlike you to be so...so forward."

"Shut up and don't complain." I said, covering his mouth with my hand. He immediately quieted, so I slowly lifted my hand. I gave him a mischievous grin and leaned over to kiss him again. He had his hands on my waist as we kissed, then all of a sudden he wrapped his arms tight around me and rolled us over, so that he was on top of me. He held my wrists and pinned me down.

"Not fair!" I stuck out my lower lip and pretended to pout.

Dan released his hold on my wrists and sat back just a bit. He stared at me with a slightly worried look on his face.

"What?" I asked, genuinely puzzled.

"I just don't want to push you to do anything you're not comfortable doing."

"Dan, you don't have to worry about that. I'd say something if things were going to far."

"But I don't want to pressure you at all."

"You won't. Please don't worry about it, and anyway, I started it this time!"

"Yeah, you did." Dan sighed. "Just forget I ever said anything."

"Sure." I pushed Dan off to the side so that he was lying next to me. Then I moved to straddle him again. "Now back to this." I said. Dan grinned and I kissed him a few times before he interrupeted the makeout session again.

"Maybe we should set boundaries or something." He suggested.

I rolled off him and sighed loudly. "Maybe we should just go with the flow and not make it into a worrying situation. Do you like to worry or something?"

"No, I just don't want to have you do something you'll regret."

"Anything I do with you I won't regret, because I love you."

"Are you one hundred percent sure about that?"

"Yes, I'm more than one hundred percent sure about that. Let's just do what we do and when the time comes just let it happen."

Dan gave me a big smile and then pulled me back onto him. "Sorry for the fuss, now let's get back to the action."

I laughed and gladly indulged him. We had only been kissing for about a minute or so when his mother yelled from downstairs that it was time to go. I made another pouting face and reluctantly got up.

"The call always comes too soon." Dan said, following me down the stairs.

"That's life." I said, turning around at the bottom of the stairs and giving him a kiss.

"We just have to deal I suppose." Dan said, pulling me closer to him and kissing me again. I opened my mouth and let his tongue in and we kissed for a few seconds longer before Dan's mom came into the entryway to shoo us out to the waiting car.

"You're going to be late AGAIN." She yelled, exasperated.

When we arrived on set we noticed right away that something was different. Emma, the perky humorous one who nearly always created this sort of sense of fun around her, was nowhere to be seen.

Rupert approached us right away with a big smile. Another oddity, considering he was usually moping around somewhere, dreaming about Kylie. "Guess what!" He exclaimed when he reached us.

"What?" Dan said, in a slightly amused tone, as if he already knew what the answer would be.

"Kylie's coming today."

"Ah, of course. What else could it have possibly been." Dan said with a touch of sarcasm.

"She can only stop by for about a half hour during break though, since she has tons of work to do."

"Bummer." Dan said, unfeelingly.

"Yeah, but she's going to be able to come to the premiere and that'll be really cool."

"I bet." Dan rolled his eyes.

"I thought you'd be happy for me." Rupert said, a bit disturbed.

"I am, I am. I'm just a bit bored of you going on and on about her."

"Well we're very close, so I'm allowed to go on and on about her."

"Okay. Whatever you say."

Rupert turned and stalked away, his good mood turned sour.

"Why'd you have to be so rude?" I asked Dan, frowning at him.

"He just gets on my nerves, that's all. He's always talking about Kylie this and Kylie that, and I've gotten sick of it."

"That's no reason to be rude to someone who used to be your really good friend."

"It is a reason to me."

I shook my head but didn't continue the argument any longer.

"So where do you think Emma is?" I asked, to change the subject.

"She's probably off somewhere fuming about the fact that Kylie's going to be here."

"Ah, right. I think it's absolutely ridiculous how she chases after Rupert when it's so obvious that she's not going to get anywhere with him."

"That's Emma for you, she thinks she can get whatever she wants."

"And when she doesn't she sulks."

"Yep."

The day dragged on slowly, the tension between Rupert and Emma making everything seem miserable. They had to more takes than ever on every single scene they shot, because Emma could never get her emotions right, and the interaction between Rupert and Emma was always a bit too cold. Finally we broke for lunch.

"Are you looking forward to meething Kylie?" Dan asked as we headed towards the catering tent.

"I'm not sure. She's a popstar and I guess I'm kind of intimidated by the idea of her."

"You hang out with movie stars everyday and the prospect of meeting a popstar intimidates you?"

"I know, it's silly. But you know, I've been hanging with you guys for so long that I forget you're movie stars."

"She's just a normal person with a not so normal career."

"I know, I know, but it still intimidates me. I guess it's sort of because I've always had this little dream to be a popstar. So I really look up to people who've made it."

"You might not want to look up to this particular popstar. She's a bit snobby in my opinion."

"Oh really? I wonder what Rupert sees in her then."

"Well you can judge her for yourself, here she comes."

I turned around and saw her. She was sort of tall, with straight black hair that was cut into a cute layered style. She was wearing faded blue jeans that were too long and had holes in the knees, a black t-shirt that had an artsy picture of Merry and Pippen from the LOTR movies on it, and black flip-flops. She was all made up and if it weren't for the casual clothes she would've looked like she had stepped off the cover of a magazine. She was hanging on Rupert's arm, gazing at him. He was gazing right back at her, and the look in both of their eyes was enough to make anyone sick. They were talking quietly to each other as they headed towards the rest of us.

"Isabel!" Rupert called, breaking eye contact with Kylie for a minute to catch my eye and motion me over.

I took a deep breath and walked over to them, Dan trailing along behind.

"Kylie, this is Isabel. She's Dan's girlfriend."

Kylie gave me a smile, but it didn't seem to be a true sincere one. "Nice to meet you." She said.

"I thought that maybe you two could hang out sometimes when Dan and I are working, since you get so bored and Emma doesn't like you." Rupert said to Kylie.

"Aw...you actually remembered that I get bored! That's so sweet." Rupert and Kylie were doing their sickeningly sweet couple act, and they had totally forgotten that Dan and I were standing right there, so we backed off.

"Well I don't know about snobby, but she's definitely so deep into Rupert that no other person is going to matter to her." I said, when we had gotten out of earshot of Rupert and Kylie, not that they would've been paying enough attention to hear what I had said.

"Yeah, that's definitely it. She has her job though, so we don't have to put up with the two of them that often."

"Well it's kind of sweet, in an extremely irritating way."

"You don't want us to be like that, do you?" Dan asked nervously.

"Of course not!" I laughed. "I'd kill myself before I'd let myself act like that."

"Well every once in awhile is okay, right?" Dan said, grabbing me around the waist and pulling me in to him.

"Yeah, every once in awhile is fine." I said, giving Dan a kiss.

"Oh break it up already." Emma complained, breezing past us on her way towards the food. "One sickeningly happy couple is enough."

Dan and I watched her pass and burst out laughing as soon as we thought she was far enough away not to hear us. "I hear you!" She yelled as soon as we had started laughing. This just made Dan and I laugh even harder.

Chapter 11

A little later, Kylie had gone and everyone was supposed to report back on set. They did an Occlumency scene with Dan and Alan Rickman, then they set up to do some dialogue between the three main characters. That's when we noticed that Emma was nowhere to be seen.

One of the production assistants was sent to get her, but he returned alone. "She won't come out of her trailer." He said.

"Why not?" Chris asked. He seemed amazingly calm and more sympathetic then angry.

"I don't know." The PA replied.

"Let me try to get her to come out." I suggested, knowing very well why she was refusing to join the rest of the cast and do her job. I hoped that maybe I could talk to her and get her over it so that she could come to work.

"Sure." Chris shrugged his shoulders and I headed off towards Emma's trailer.

I knocked on the door and waited for Emma's reply. "I'm not coming, I thought I already told you that!" She yelled from inside.

"It's me, Isabel. Can you please let me in?"

A few seconds later Emma opened the door. Her eyes were red and she'd obviously been crying for quite awhile. "Come in." She muttered.

"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting next to her on the couch.

"You know...Rupert...and Kylie." Emma burst into a fresh bout of crying. I put my arm around her shoulders and waited until she had calmed down a bit.

"I know this may sound insensitive of me, but why does this whole Rupert and Kylie thing bug you so much?"

"I really like Rupert." Emma gave me a look that totally said 'duh'.

"But to cry over it? I mean, I know it's sucky when a guy you like decides he's not into you, but it seems like you'd be over it by now, since Rupert first turned you down years ago."

"I was over it. Until last year." Emma's cheeks turned bright red.

"What happened last year?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"It's kind of a long story."

"Well tell it to me. That is, if you want."

"Well, okay, but you don't think you'll get in trouble for keeping me in here, do you?"

"No, they'll just think that you haven't agreed to come out yet."

"Okay...here goes then." Emma took a deep breath and then launched into her story. "Last year, on Halloween, some of the crew decided to host a huge Halloween party for everyone who was working on the movie. We were working on Goblet of Fire at the time, and I remember that we were on location in German, to shoot at this castle they have there. The crew set everything up really nice, they got permission to use the ballroom of the hotel that most of us were staying at, and they even brought in some discarded items from the set that really helped add a Halloweenish feeling. Some of those old chess pieces, some statues from various hallways, lots of really cool stuff. It was really, really amazing what they did."

"Right, but what does all that have to do with Rupert?" I interrupted. Emma shushed me.

"So anyway, we went to the party and it was loads of fun. I was dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and Rupert kept going on and on about how cute I looked. I was kind of confused because he had always pretty much ignored me before, I think he thought I was stalker-ish or something because of how long it had taken me to give up on him.

"It got later and later, and finally I left the party to go to sleep and Rupert left right along with me. So I asked him what was up and why was he paying attention to me all of a sudden? He goes 'I think I made a mistake turning you down so many times." He said it in such a dreamy way too! I totally freaked out when he said that. I was all happy and shocked and excited at the same time. So by then we'd reached the door of my hotel room and all of a sudden Rupert kissed me.

Isabel gasped. "Without any warning? Just like that?"

"I know! I was so surprised! Not complaining though!" Emma laughed. I was glad to see her cheering up. It was only for a second though, she got all sad and somber again when she continued telling me what had happened.

"We kissed for probably about two minutes until I realized that we were making out right in the middle of the hallway. So I stopped him and asked if he wanted to come into my room with me. Then we started kissing again, on my bed. And then...then...we...you know..."

"OH MY GOD! YOU HAD SEX WITH HIM???" I yelled.

Emma looked around nervously. "Quiet." She whispered. "You don't need to let the whole world know."

I shook my head with disbelief. "Well if you did THAT then why aren't you still together."

"He told me the next morning that it was all a big mistake and he didn't want to continue anything between us."

"Goodness, did he really? That's absolutely horrible!"

Emma nodded slowly. "He did." Then she perked up, obviously shoving all the memories out of her mind for the time being. "Well we'd better get to set. Thanks for listening."

"No problem." I said, still recovering from the shock of her story. I followed her out of the trailer and headed back to the set still kind of dazed.

Chapter 12

Later that afternoon, Dan and I arrived back at his house to find no one else home. After a bit of confusing we found the note his mother had left.

-- Gone out with Dad, be back by midnight. Eat whatever you'd like for dinner. --

"Can you believe they left us here? Alone...and together?" Dan asked.

"They have an awful lot of trust."

"Apparently."

"So are you hungry?"

"Not particularly." Dan said, wrapping one arm around my waist and pulling me towards him.

"Same here." I breathed, before Dan kissed me hard on the mouth. "Wait." I said, pushing him away slightly, surprised by the force he'd kissed me with. Dan looked at me expectantly. "This isn't going to go all the way." I said, my hand on his chest, holding him back from kissing me again.

"I know." He said. I moved my hand and he kissed me again. After a minute or two I pulled back again.

"Upstairs." I said, breathlessly.

We headed to my room (since it was a bit neater than his), and as soon as the door was shut we were kissing again. I felt Dan's hands at the bottom of my t-shirt and I broke the kiss and stepped back for a moment so that he could lift it over my head. He tossed it over onto the bed and moved in close to me, lightly pushing me back against the door.

"I love you." I whispered, gazing into his eyes, our foreheads touching. "I really do." Then I took the lead, kissing him strongly. We slowly moved across the room until we reached the bed. Dan fell back onto it and I climbed on top of him, breaking the kiss for only a moment, just to settle myself more comfortably on top of him. I leaned down and kissed him more. His hands trailed up my sides and around my back, reaching for the clasp on my bra.

"Is this okay?" He asked, as I moved my kisses away from his mouth and down onto his neck. I looked up at him and merely nodded.

He tried to undo the hook, but failed, so I sat up and reached back to undo it myself. He pulled my arm away to stop me. "No, I'll figure it out. Let me."

I shrugged. "Sure. But lets get rid of this first." I said, pulling at the neckline of his t-shirt. He sat up a bit and helped me pull it off. Then he reached around me and unhooked my bra with one tug.

"Second time's obviously the charm." I said. I slowly, and slightly nervously, slid my bra off. Dan's eyes traveled over my body and I fought the urge to cover myself. After a few silent seconds Dan practically jumped on me, rolling me over and nibbling on my neck as his hands moved all over my chest. I felt uncomfortable for a few seconds, but then became more comfortable and I put my hand under his chin and lifted his head up to kiss him.

We kept on for awhile until I felt his hand move down to my belt buckle. I grabbed his wrist and pushed his hand away. "Not that far." I whispered.

Dan nodded and I smiled. "Let's go get something to eat. I'm feeling much more hungry now."

"Okay." Dan replied. He rolled off me and sat up. "Here you go." He said, tossing me my shirt and bra. He grabbed his own shirt and pulled it over his head.

"What do you want?" Dan asked, peering into the refrigerator. "We've got some leftover pizza that we can heat up."

"Sounds fine to me."

Dan pulled a plastic container out of the fridge and handed it to me. I opened the container and pulled four pieces out. Dan brought a plate over, I put the slices on it, and he put them into the microwave.

"So tell me some things about your life back in the states, before you came here." Dan said, sitting across the table from me.

"Well, I lived with my mom in Portland, Oregon. It was just me and her. I don't have any siblings and my dad divorced my mom when I was eight. So it's been just the two of us for awhile now. I had a pretty normal life, I went to school, spent lots of time with Diana, I was your basic normal teen."

"When did you make the decision to come all the way to England?"

"Awhile ago. I had to save for a long time."

"You know what?"

"What?"

"I'm glad you were a crazy, over-obsessive fan."

I raised an eyebrow. "You are?"

"Yes, I am. If you hadn't been then you would've never come to England and I would've never met you."

I smiled and leaned forward to kiss him. We kissed for a few seconds, then the microwave timer went off and Dan got up to get the pizza. We took it into the living room and turned on the TV to watch a show while we ate.

We were still up when Dan's parents got home. "Did you have a nice evening out?" Dan asked politely.

"Yes, we had a good time." Dan's mother replied. "I expect you two behaved yourselves?"

"Most definitely." Dan said.

"You two should really be in bed now." Dan's father said. "You have a 6:00 call time tomorrow morning."

"And remember, we're going to have to get up VERY early because we'll have to travel all the way to Glasgow." Dan's mother added.

"Oh, right." Dan said. "I didn't think about that." We both headed upstairs to sleep.

Just four short hours later Dan was in my room shaking me awake. "Time to get up." He said.

"Oh god." I muttered. "We definitely should've not stayed up so late. I feel so tired."

"Same here." Dan said. "Come on. Mom wants us waiting in the car in a half hour."

"All right, I'm up." I said, pushing the covers off me.

Dan walked to the door. "See you in half an hour." He said.

"Yeah." I nodded as he shut the door behind him.

Fifteen minutes later Dan knocked on my door. "Can I come in?" He asked.

"Yeah, come in." I said.

I was standing in front of my mirror, fixing my hair. He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. "Are you ready yet?" He asked, kissing my neck softly.

"No." I answered.

"You look ready to me." He looked up and our eyes met in the mirror.

"You call this messy hair ready?" I pouted.

"It looks fine ot me."

I smiled. "Just let me tie it up." I said, moving his arms from around me. He sat on my bed as I finished putting my hair up.

I put the brush down on my dresser and walked over to Dan. He took my hand and pulled me down to sit on his lap. "We don't have to be downstairs for another ten minutes." He said.

"You know Dan, I think we should slow it down a bit."

Dan frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, I think we makeout too much and we don't talk enough. I don't want our relationship to become all about the physical stuff."

"Oh." Dan said, still seeming a bit confused.

"Dan, I don't mean we can't kiss anymore. I just think we should cut down on the full out makeout sessions a bit."

"Well, okay. I mean, if it's really that important to you."

"Thanks for understanding." I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Now lets go. Your mother will be so happy to see us early for a change."
