Above is a (almost) recent photo of my Mother and Father, the Founders of Pop's Escort Service. O'Neal Morris, the "Pop" in Pop's Escort, with Polly, of course being the "Mom" in the company.
They started operating Pop's Escort Service in about 1991. Pop drove an Escort Vehicle and Mom took care of dispatching and accounting. They expanded the company and now use a network of drivers to meet local, regional, and national needs.
Pop built a reputation for being honest and reliable with his customers. When he promised to be somewhere at a certain time, he was always there.
Mom really surprised everyone, by learning new computer skills and new accounting programs. She would still be taking care of all that pesky but necessary administrative work, if she were able to.
Mom has required assisted living facilities since January 2001, because of her advancing Parkinsons and Pop passed away in December 2001.
Mom and Pop asked me to work with them so I could continue operating the business for them after they were not able to. I worked with them during Pop's last year, learning all his principles and business practices, and building relationships with their customers. Pop was great with all of his customers and he taught me a lot.
