For some fortunate people, life is like this. However, for the rest of us we have to face the daily grind of the 9 to 5 job after which come the household chores, such as cooking, cleaning, washing and if you have children, spending time with them and getting them to bed, day in, day out. |
|
|
By the time you are finished, there is precious little time to relax, let alone spend time with your loved one, so how can any relationship survive, let alone flourish? The answer is planning and sharing the household responsibilities, remember a relationship is an equal partnership, more so if you both work. Then once all the chores are done, you and your partner and spend some quality time together, which is very important if you want it to survive and grow. |

Just think back for a moment (depending how old you are) to how your parents or grand parents managed things. They would work togther and had a routine that they would follow, very boring stuff to us youngsters at the time, but it was the only way that everything got done, so that they could spend time together. You are now in that same position, wonder of wonders what a shock. |

Your parents made their system work and they were happy, because they were committed to the relationship and remember, divorce was almost unheard of in their day, so what has changed l wonder. |
|
|
However, as we all know not all relationships are happy ones. Some people (this applies to both men and women) do find themselves in an abusive relationship and dont know how to get out of it, especially if there are children. There is only one answer unfortunately and that is, pack your bags grab the children and go to a place of safety, once you are there, make a full report to the police who will deal with the problem from then on. Always press charges, never forgive the other partner, without positive proof that they have changed, which happens very rarely and NEVER, EVER stay in an abusive relationship just for the sake of the kids, you are not doing them any favours. |
