Turkey Time by Anita
Nick looked around the huge oak table, which seated all of the Backstreet Boys. He was so excited. It was Thanksgiving and he had a lot to be grateful for. He began to sing.
Oh turkey bird oh turkey bird,
how lovely are your feathers.
AJ slapped him upside the head.
"Cut it out your dork!" He said laughing.
"Fine!" Nick said and then thought about it. He began to sing another song.
Turkey the very fat turkey
had a very shiny beak!
Kevin rolled his eyes laughing at the youngest member. He was glad that Nick was in a good mood instead of acting like a brat. They were all slightly upset that they wouldn't be able to have dinner with their families but they had lunch with them, worked a little bit and now were all sharing a dinner together.
Suddenly, something splattered against his forehead. He wiped it his eyes narrowed and discovered mashed potatoes. He looked at Nick who was covering his mouth trying not to laugh.
"Nick" he started calmly." I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THAT!"
Nick jumped up and ran away laughing as Kevin chased him.
"Don't you just loving spending the holidays with them?" Howie asked Brian and AJ. Brian shot AJ a look and flung a spoonful of peas at Howie and took off running.
They all ran around for a while goofing off and having the time of their lives. After a while they all gathered around the table.
"Ok guys, we will all go around and say something that we are thankful for." Kevin said taking charge. "And something serious." He added seeing Nick open his mouth mostly likely to say something stupid.
"Ok I�ll start." Brian said with a smile. "I am thankful that God led me to your guys, you are all my brothers and I love you and I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have you in my life."
They all clapped then Nick spoke up.
"I for one am happy to be alive!" He frowned as everyone laughed at him.� Well it�s true you all know how I am, with my luck I could have fallen off the stage anytime and died! But ok ok I am also thankful that God helped us all and we have had the honor to experience fame. I'm also thankful for my family...and pizza!" He whispered the last part.
The guys laughed and soon they all finished and began to clear up. They moved into the living room and began to roast marshmallows as it grew dark.
"You know guys, Nick had a point." AJ started, "We really should be thankful that we are alive. And not only that but for all that we have. There are so many people in the world that don't have a thing. I really think we should do something about it."
Kevin nodded thoughtfully. "You are right AJ, we really should do something to help out more."
With that all five guys jumped up and set off to get together their own things to share with the others.
Later after they dropped everything off at the shelter and soup kitchen they sat around smiling feel good with themselves.
"We really did do a great thing and if we have to make a sacrifice," Nick said "Well tomorrow is another day."
They all agreed. Brian stretched out on the couch and thought about how life would be if things were different if they didn't have money.
Nick remembered the times when his parents didn't have much money and his family suffered. He shivered glad things were different now.
Kevin grew sad thinking of his family. Today had been hard without his father. Tears crept into his eyes but he was glad his father was watching over them.
AJ thought of his mom and smiled glad that they had been able to make it without his dad, yes times had been hard but he loved his mom and was thankful for what she did for him
Howie thought of his family and missed his sister. Yet he did have a lot going for him and was glad in that. He smiled thinking of his parents.
Yes, they were all truly blessed.
